I am recieving calls at my job from a private number, however they somehow reached my boss and they gave him the number 760-423-1110 ext 203 a man named Thomas Tucker they've called at least 10 just today alone!!!  Luckily my boss is pretty cool about and he informed them that I was being harrassed after a woman again called saying her name was "Rachel Ray"!! and she hung up immediately. They are clearly a scam they are saying a bank contacted them bc I had a fraudelant check LIES!!! How can I get these people to STOP calling. Also, they said their co. is Check Protection Service, I told Thomas Tucker that I was googling this as we were speaking he said "he doesnt care,  just pay my debt" Im sooo pissed!! He was very irate, and sarcastic!!

A coworker of mine just received a phone call from a man named STan sayiing he was with CPS and wanted to ask him questions about me. He sent the call back to our switchboard and our operator informed him that it was illegal for him to call like that, he said it wasn't, but our operator insisted. Next time he call I will get certain information from him and turn him into the Attorney General.

I had calls from these people in July of 2009 and it was a debt that I owed.  I was instructed to apply for a WalMart MoneyCard, which I did, and paid them in two payments with that.   Now I am getting a call from a bogus outfit saying I owe them money, which I don't, but I called WalMart and gave them the number on my MoneyCard and they looked up my account, still had the two transactions on it and sent me the statement which I received today.   So I am waiting for these people to call me again, and I'm armed now with this statement of payment.

These people called my employer and told me they were "Investigators" and said that they were investigating me for fraud with a payday loan company and even talked to my employer.  Watch out, we all need to somehow contact each other and bring a major suit against these people.

These people are ridiculous...They started out leaving a message with my next door neighbor for my husband stating that he was Mr. Thomas Tucker with CPS and that it was urgent that he calls him back concerning reference #_____.  And that it was also regarding his exwife.  Immediately we thought it was pretaining to his children, but we are located on the East Coast and why would CPS from the West Coast call us regarding his children?  My husband has received calls from this number for about a week now... EVERYDAY!!   Mr. Thomas Tucker apparently accused my husband of having bad checks that were never paid...ROFL.....if this was so wouldn't he have gone to jail for this???...then he even used my husband's exwifes name to try to make it believable!!!  But after Mr. Tucker called my husband 11 times today yelling, I explained to him that I will file a complaint due to his harrassment and that he will be sorry if he called our number again.  After googling the phone number I find it amazing how long this has been going on and that these creeps haven't been caught yet!!!

I can't begin to imagine how many people have been suckered into giving these people money and how much money they have collected.  This has to stop!!!  I will be calling my local police and local news to get something done!!!!

I received a call from a Mr. Duncan from this number and he left a message stating he needed to
talk to me or my dad concerning something about CPS.  Number one, I know this must be some
sort of scam because I do not have any maternal children and I know my dad does not have any
more children either (he is 76 years old).

What kind of scam is this?

Yeah Tony, I got the same calls.  The guy acts like a big shot telling me that he will call my boss, friends, etc..  I told him to go F himself!  He calls my boss and my boss basically told him the same thing.  I guess they aren't as smart as they think they are!!

Getting some strange feedback from customers that someone named Danny or Tony is calling and asking for bank account information(which we dont need) and putting our number on their caller id. These are not employees of CPS and should be avoided. Our caller id is 760-423-1100, but if tony or danny calls you, hang up and call 760-423-1100 and ask for a manager.

4 of the people that got calls from tony or danny dont even have cases with our firm which leads us to believe someone is using CPS name and phone number to perpetrate a fraud.

this is ridiculous, i wanted to go through the phone and rip "Mr. Hardings" face off. called me for an acquaintance, and when i called back. they were the most disrespectful companiy i have ever talked to.

I have recently recieved numerous calls from this number in the past few weeks, and they started getting a little fishy. They mentioned a payday loan that I swear I payed off two years ago but apparently it wasn't- well I asked her the amount owed and it was explained to me their payment plans and then went on a tangent on western Union and then if I had a debit card that they were going to have to charge me a fee for each individual monthly payment. Thats where I simply hung up the phone- I have never heard of a collections agency charging a processing fee of $12.00 per payment to settle a debt. Well I have since reveived a voicemail stating that If I did not get in contact with her( Madison) by the end of the week and attempt to voluntarily pay off this loan then she would have no choice but to take me to civil court. Then the $339 that I apparently owe would turn into $2500 and would be charged tons of fines, court costs, etc, etc. Now this almost sounds sincere if she wasn tripping over every other word. So I decided to do some research of my own and found this site. I will keep in contact and let you all now about what occurs next.

Young man called from this number, and said he was looking for my brother. I haven't spoken to him for years he gave me this number 760 423-1100 ext 110 his name was John Carter. Tried to get informaiton from this guy he told me, he couldn't give out the name of the company. So I looked up the number on the internet and found all of your comments. I'm calling my Attorney General now. Thanks everyone.

Check online in your area for your Legal Aid Society.  Find a document called Fair Debt Collection.  It should be in a PDF format.  This document will help you with your problem.  It also provides a form letter that you can use to write to this outfit and once you send them this letter, certified/return receipt, they have only a few days in which they must respond to you in writing to prove that their action is legal.  If they do not respond to you, then you know what I learned from such outfits that they are a fraud outfit.  There are outfits like this that go way back in a person's history and they pick up some old debt that they then try to collect on again.  Check your area for the time allowed to collect on old debts.  Here it is 5 years before the statute of limitations runs out. We just received a call from someone identifying themselves as being with CPS.  They wanted to speak with my wife to get information from her about a family member.  Since I do not feel it is our responsibility to provide such information from unknown callers, we do not intend to respond.  Furthermore, our phone number, (757) 825-7356 is on the National Do Not Call list and has been for at least 3-4 years.  And people no longer have to go back every 5 years to put their number in again as they have not made this list permanent.  If someone from CPS calls this number again, I will have them in Civil Court, I will report them to the National Do Not Call people, to the FCC and to the FTC as well.  I know how certain companies act to dig into the past of people who may have had a debit many years ago.  Then they dig these old debts up and try to track down the person who had the debt and make them pay it all over again.  I think they call this fraud.  I just recommended that an individual in this listing check into certain actions to take to get rid of such illegal actions on the part of fake collection companies who are trying to rip people off.

These people are not allowed by law to call that many times in one day.  Look for your local Legal Aid Society online.  Check for a document "Fair Debt Collection."  Download it and read it and you will find there a form letter you can use to write them.  When you send them the letter via certified/return receipt mail, they have about a week in which they must provide you a written account to prove the legality of their claim.  If they do not send such a letter within the time frame, they cannot contact you again for any reason and if they do, you can take them to court and probably win.  Good luck.

I just got a call from CPS # is 760-423-1100. Her name was Madison. She said call her at 1800-460-0082 ext 109.

I just got a call from Thomas Tucker and was very nasty to me but was nice to my coworker. He told me he talked to my supervisor which he didnt. This has been going on for a while. now is he making it seem like he is from the IRS.

These people called my Mom's number and told her they were looking for me with some case # and for me to call them asap.  I don't know how they would have gotten my Mom's number or name?  Extremely vicious people, frightened her.  How do I get them to stop?

The call came from a Siena Black or Blackwood looking for my old friend, whom I have not seen in 18 months. I was concerned as we had a bit of a falling out and she had some troubles. I thought she was maybe in the hospital or worse. I asked for more information and tried to be of assistance but this company was so sketchy as to what information they could give out.
They are out of California.
The saddest thing is, is that this is what these people do for a living.
