Very abrupt woman provided a case # and wanted a western union wire transfer. 760-423-1100 ext. 204. I knew it was BS!!!

This company is a fraud. Google Marauder Corporation, Bill Collector in a Box, CPS, Ryon Gambill and you'll see what I mean.

They probably made the debt up out of Experian or stole it from a payday loan company.

Don't pay them. If you do you are a fool.

If they put it on your credit report, contact Experian and complain. If they don't remove it threaten to sue.

If you want to have fun, tease them about Ryon Gambill's criminal record and outstanding arrest warrant.

This company is a scam. Once upon a time they tried doing legal debt collection but they tried to defraud the company that had the debts.

Now it is just fraud. For some reason, the credit bureau Experian continues to let them use the database. Experian does not care as long as they make their money. Just look up Abril Bedarf Turner, you'll see how much she shops on Amazon-she is the Experian advocate for this company.

When they call, ask about the criminal records of their employees and founder. The founder, Ryon Gambill, was convicted of phone harassment. Employee, customer service manager, Ray Writghsman, convicted of domestic abuse.

They will not sue you and will not send the police after you. Just file a local police report and complain to Experian. If you call Experian, demand to speak to Abril Turner, tell her to stop shopping and to do her job.

I received a call for the past several days from a women named Hedi Rodriguez from CPS to call her back at 760-424-1100 ext 203. Thank you for posting your past experience with issue.

I about fell off my chair laughing. It was clearly a hypester using names off my old facebook page which listed my best friend as my mom, my brother's best friend is my "dad" and so on. She asked what was wrong, this was very serious that I better wire $$ to a number she would give me. I said I bet it was so why don't I conference in my attorney so we can down to the matter at hand. I also received a call from Emily Johnson saying something about a fraud investigation, to call her immediately at 7043156252 by the end of business and reference PDA 73546...will definitely be reporting this to the local police department...

    This woman has called me for going on 2 years now.  Every time she gives me 24 to 48 hours to call her back or she is prosecuting.  I wish she would go ahead already so I can file a big lawsuit on her A____.  Very angry sounding woman.  I would crack if it were the first time but like I said she has been going to prosecute for going on 2 years now. I've committed fraud apparently and I need to call her on this matter.  Never have talked to this woman.  Just listen to her ongoing messages.

In addition she calls from the same number. 760-423-1100 but ext. 204.  I now have till Monday 5/6/2013 or she is prosecuting again.  LOL  I'm sure she will call next week or the week after with yet another threat.

I have received a phone call from CPS from a woman named Jill Phillips.  The woman was very rude and said i owed money and they wanted to collect it or i would be taken to court. They called my job!!!  I have seen several blogs with this name of the company and same phone number where they have found this company  fraudulent. If i owe a debt i would be more than welcome to pay it but I do not have any idea who these people are.

There is a warrant for the arrest of the owner of this CPS company in Fairfax, VA

This company does not follow the Federal Trade Commission's Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).  Look it up http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Do not pay them anything without them first providing proof of the debt that claim you owe in writing.  Not an e-mail or a fax, but make them mail it to you, preferably certified mail.
Paper trails are IMPORTANT!!
Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.
If they use harassment methods and threaten to sue, tell them you are familiar with the FDCPA and will countersue for their illegitimate practices and they should remove any debt owing against you because they are breaking the law.
Also, just to make everyone aware, they cannot threaten to send you to jail.  Per the Federal Trade
Commission:

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;
they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.

This is actually a very small operation. It is run by Ryon Gambill, who has been convicted of phone harassment and charged with extortion. There is an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Virginia.

He works with long time associate Ray Wrightsman. Wrightsman has been convicted of domestic abuse.

They work out of Gambill's home on La Sierra Drive in Palm Desert CA. The other addresses are just mail drops.

They call themselves "Check Protection Systems" so they can use the initials CPS and make people think it is Child Protective Services.

They get your details out of Experian. Experian has admitted in court that they let Gambill access their database on a fee basis.

The real trick when these people come after you is to sue Experian. They always settle as they do not want to go to trial and have certain things made public.

They obtained our file from a weight loss clinic that went out of business in 2001 due to malfeasance (people were cooking the books).  My wife went there for treatments in 2000 and paid after each visit, so there was no balance due.  Then in 2004, we got a call from someone saying they were from this defunct clinic and wanted to send my wife's records to us, so I gave them the adress.  Turned out the person was from Marauder and lied.  They then threatened us for the fake debt, and placed it on Experian.  I fought with Experian to remove it but they were not responsive, and it finally came off after the 7 year statute.  NOW we're receiving calls from CPS (another name for Marauder) on the same phony debt!  They're trying to re-age it!  This time I emailed the CEO and other executives at Experian directly because there is overwhelming evidence they are complicit in this conspiracy to extort, and told them I was pursuing legal action against Marauder (CPS) and them as well as reporting them to the CA Attorney General and the FTC.  I received a VM from a very nervous guy at Experian that they were investigating Marauder.  I've since called back and left messages, but haven't talked to him directly yet.  Here is how to complain to Experian:

These people call and use the most "urgent" tone they can dream up. I called them back and gave them the file # they left. They are trying to collect for some Advance Cash loan I took out- maybe 9 years ago??? It's been LONG paid off, and she still gives me the speech about intent to defraud, etc etc- they just try to scare people. I don't know what kind of collection cases they're buying, but it does you no good to call people who have already paid off the crap you're calling on. Also, 9 years ago? Seriously?

Ask him if he's working out of a van or something now. Ask him what's on his credit report.

If it is a woman on the phone, ask if it is Christina Troll (Ryon's new girlfriend) or if she knows Christina.

I received several calls from this Arianna woman and I told her that I have filed bankruptcy and she should contact my attorney. Gave her his number as well as my file # and she said that I should call him and give him HER number...NOT....
I am not responsible for any debts that I have incurred...she needs to learn the hard way...
