this number (800) 511-3207 called 6 times in one day. i screen my incoming calls and when they dont leave a message then either its a scam or its not important. Well after about 15 calls from this number without a message i figured i should look into it.

I got an automated message today saying "this is macy's please call us back about a business matter"

I am sure it is a telephone phishing scam ...1. I don't have a macy's account and 2. when you call the number it goes right to a message asking you to hold for the next available representative.

This appears to be Macy's/ Bloomingdale's calling about a delinquent account.  They leave an automated message from this number asking to call back the same number several times a day.  Call center is somewhere in India... they will be difficult to understand.

Just received this call and called it back...was told that the call would be monitored for quality assurance and that I was to hold for the next available representative.  Then there was silence, no musac nothing.  I then checked the customer service number on my Macy's card and googled the number. Glad I did as I found it suspicious and these posts confirmed it.

I called these obnoxious people. Turns out I was past-due on my bill -- my Macy's bill. (I paid my AmEx bill a couple weeks ago, which is why I forgot to pay the Macy's.)
It's confusing to remember the two accounts that exist on one card. Different due dates, different bills, etc.
For comparison, I have an Old Navy Visa that has one bill each month. It doesn't treat Old Navy purchases separate from gasoline purchases. One statement, one due date.
What's frustrating about Macy's is the hyper-aggressive, call-me-at-home-and-work-during-the-most-inconvenient-hours tactics. And the customer service rep's exasperated attitude like, "You terrible bill-payer! How dare you be late???!!! Give me your account information right now! You know you HAVE been reported to a credit bureau for being late, you irresponsible person, you!"
I like how Macy's has bargains for Macy's card users. So I'm wondering if it's possible to cancel the AmEx part of my account? At this point, it's about sending them a message that I don't need their crap.
    I'm a customer, not a criminal.

Have been receiving calls for the last wk, 10/13/11 to the present from the 800 511 3207 # .
I generally do not answer any  toll free area code #'s unless I am familiar but in a rush did answer this call & rec'd the same message about macy's & pers. business. I have not used my Macy's acct in 4 yrs so this was suspicious. I contacted the FCC & was told that as long as a phone # comes up on caller ID they are within the commercial calling guidelines & do not need to post a name of the company UNLESS, they do solicit you in some way then they do need to have a name w/the number otherwise they are in violation. I also contacted Macy's CS # from my CC & explained the situation & they looked up to see if they did have an 800 listng that matched but did not. Crazy, they did not even have my acct # in their system anymore! Therefore this has got to be some kind of cold calling scam especially if they are even calling people w/o an acct!

I received five call from this number today.  When I called them back they asked me for my telephone number and then gave me someone a number person's name.  Someone I have never heard of and as I have had this number for 20 years I'm not sure how my number was added to this person's account. I have just had it with Macy's and am going to close my account.  Since my number is on the do not call list I will file a formal complaint again the company if they call me again.

I called customer services at a different number.  I got a woman that I could not understand.  I asked to speak to her Supervisor and got another woman that I could not understand.  She told me that I had been late on a payment in 2009 but have been up-to-date since them and late charge had been removed from my account.  Why did it take them from 2009 to 2011 (two years) to call me.  And if everything is OK what is the problem? BTW: I looked at my Macy's card and it expired in 2008, but I used it last week.  This store is crazy ...... The account is going to be closed this weekend; in a store; with a printed statement that I paid the account in full.

I keep receiving this automated call claiming they need to speak with me about my Macy's account.  I was going to return the call, but something told me something is fishy so I looked up the number.  Now after reading many of the earlier posts, I am not giving it another thought.
