I agree, people should pay their debt..HOWEVER, they need to call the people that HAS the debt not the rest of the world that know or may know other individuals!!!! I call back if it's my responsibility, otherwise they can go straight to hell!!!

Apparently Kentwood is associated with "Square two", and my original creditor said my account was sold to them.  I've already given them my bank account info and they're supposed to take out several payments, but I have no assurance this will even settle the debt.  Now I think I'll close the account before they get to it.  But if I do, how likely is it they will sue?  I think I want to wait and get a letter in hand then send them a money order, but I'm afraid of being sued in the meanwhile.

All you people on here talking about harrassment calls are the same people not answering there calls when they get these calls because you just don't want to pay you debt. Thats the problem with living in a debt friendly state. Now some of you might actually be in a hard place. But some of you are just straight dead beats. If you would call and stop trying to figure out ways to outsmart the bill collectors you might not have the calls to your friends and family. Get a clue you low lives. I recieved several calls from this company claimimg to be a law firm .I actually want to pay the bill I do have an outstanding balance but I am afraid to give them any more information . what should I do ? I have not spoke with them yet but if they tell me my balance is different that will be a problem for me.

I am so happy there are websites like this, and people like you.  Here is my situation.  I got served papers for a credit card I paid off last August.  I have received no mail or phone calls prior to receiving the papers for the attempts to collect a debt.  I contacted the law firm "Kentwood Law Group-who from what I have read after research seems fishy to say the least and offered to send a letter I received from them a year ago Feb. stating they receive a payment from me in the amount of 25.  I made an agreement with them after that payment to pay in $200 monthly intervals until it was paid off.  As of last Aug it was my belief that I had paid them off.  Now 7 months later I am being sued by CACH LLC the assignee of GE moneybank which I had the original card with.  So now I am confused not only if I owe anything at all, even though my suet is asking for more then $2000.  In addition the affidavit of sale is for the state of Minnesota, county of Ramsey and I live in GA. None of this makes any sense.  The affidavit also says the amount owed since 12/10.  I have a letter from the Law Group Kentwood dated 2/11 about receiving a payment.  Again, UGH!  Any assistance would be very appreciated.  (I hope I explained this well, I am really angry and upset about all of this.)  Thank you.

These scum bags are one of those “Basement Bill-boys” who buy up old, expired, (time-barred) In other words, LEGALLY UNCOLLECTABLE junk-accounts for pennies on the dollar and dunn ANYONE they can find for anything they can scam out of them. If they are calling you, it’s a safe bet they can’t make good on a single threat they make and that includes lawsuits. As for those collectoid lowlifes who post that: “just pay your bills and they won’t call you” crap, Don’t even go there, bill-boy- Anyone who’s ever been assigned the old phone number of one of your victims knows you couldn’t care less whether they ever owed a dime to anyone or not - you’re just out for the cash by any means, fair or foul. For anyone harassed by these losers, file complaints with any and all agencies who will accept them, but especially the Federal Trade Commission and the Licensing depts. of  both CO. And YOUR OWN STATE.  Many state licensing Departments have little-known special collection agency boards whose sole purpose in life is to make life hell for these soulless maggots who often don’t bother to get licensed in many states, sometimes because they have been banned from doing business there.  The collection companies are scarred silly(er) of these guys. Also visit the FTC website and buddhibbs.com to learn your rights and everything every collector wishes no one knew.

 Also, Here is a good way to deal with these Hitler Youth punks and their disreputable tactics; First, never mind the number on your caller ID, it’s virtually always a fake and strictly one-way.  But the call-back number on the voice-mail has to be real, otherwise they could never scam a dime out of anyone.  Also, if you know for sure which collection company it is, visit their website and if the e-mail address under “Contact Us” doesn’t readily suggest a debt collector use that also.  Write a realistic-sounding too-good-to-pass-up add for anything appealing to as wide a range of people as possible using their contact info. - then post it on Craig’s List! The ruinous overload of calls and E-Mails will soon cause their networks to crash and with these vermin, down-time is money down the drain.  The vast majority of collectiods took the short bus to school and are therefore notoriously slow learners, but this method will likely get the point across

I am being harassed by them as well.  I lost my job and got behind on everything.  I offered to make payments but they will not accept it, they want it in full or threatened to cease my property.

I am having trouble with this group. I have paid the bill and it is not reporting as paid. They keep calling me telling me I owe more.
