I had a message looking for  --both my married name and my maiden name-- re an urgent matter having to do with - name of woman my father was married to at the time of his death 25years ago- used her married name and her maiden name-- and refd another name I recognize as one of her then young children who might now be 30 himslef.  I was an adult, long out on my own when they met and married. I have not lived in the home of that time in 20 years nor have the same phone number and she never had this number or address.  Haven't seen her since the funeral but did hear that she moved to another state and remarried within 6 months.  Call Mr Kutz, important information need answers for people here at law firm- Sydney Michael 302-204-3786. I could hear the call center noice in the background and it was obviously a script delivered with urgency but it had exact and alternate names for 3 people.  

What's up with this?  And how do I block them from the cell phone I called them back on to avoid the long distance charges?  Darn- I should have checked the internet BEFORE returning the call.

Received a call from these losers. Threaten them with legal action for harassment and follow through if you need to. The second or third listing in this list of comments is more than likely a Sid Mickell poser who wrote a story up to scare people into beleiving their actions are legitimate. In that posting the man says he was served papers by a Sheriff. Since when does a County Sheriff serve civil court documents to a lawsuit defendent? This firm told me they represent a company (which renamed nameless throughout our converastion) that purchases defaulted debt from creditors for pennies on the dollar and then the company uses their firm to litigate the people who defaulted. This company is more than likely the actual debt collectors as well as the lawyers involved. In my state (as well as many other states) a company cannot garnish wages or put leins on homes or take other property. The person I talked to said he was not a lawyer and did not know my state's laws when I told him this, however he did mention he knew my state's laws on public information when I refused to give him information on my wife or my bank accounts (very shady). If you look at the BBB for California they received an F for possible Fraudulant practices. Why this company has not been taken to the woodshed before is beyond me. They tried to refute everyhting I would say like when I told him I was going to get an attorney, he commented that no attorney would handle something like this (even though they are listed on the web and in the phone book). If these people begin calling other people other than yourself then contact an attorney in your home state to put pressure on these people. Another concern is they said they sent me something in writing which I have never received. Other than the phone call I have no idea who these people are and if they are even legitimate. The last thing I want to do is to give these people money and then find out it did not resolve the matter. I have talked to 3 people from this company and only one became slightly beligerent. One guy I talked to was actually very nice, however when I asked for an agreement in writing before I ever sent a dime he said he could not until after the first payment was sent. This sent up a red flag. When I asked about options I came up with a reasonable option and he said he would have to consult his client about it for they hold the cards. He was off the phone for 2 minutes before he came back with a yes that is doable (very suspicious). I, too, also received the "ball is in your court". I was also asked if I had ever been sued before, which I found odd from a law firm. It seems they do like to use the scare tactics and unethical methods to collect. Maybe if all the people get together and file a class action suit against this company it could help put an end to this shady company's dealings.

I too got a call from this law firm, the guys name was Mike Martinez and he gave me this whole story how my CC agency tried to send my debt to a collection agency but failed and so now they were trying to sue me for the money and if it in fact goes to court I would have to pay legal fees ..etc. So of course this scared me. I told him however I would pay it if I had the money, I am a stay at home mom and am trying to go back to school to finish up my degree. I told him I would try to consolodate of file bankruptcy, he said that wouldnt work. He continued on to say "Okay so then I'll just put here that you are not going to do anything about this and will continue with the hearings." This is when I got very upset, I never said I was not going to do anything about this, my credit is very important to me I just fell into a hole. I asked for payment arrangements and he said he would try and ask for it but the most he coyuld do was three payments and would give me the weekend to think about it. "How Nice!!" I have to call him back monday no later than three or else he will go on with suing me. Something didn't feel right about this so I googled the firms name and came across this....making me think twice about paying????

Chris Galvez from this "firm" called my husband's ex-wife's father asking for me!  She called them back, and he would not give any information to her.  They called here today FOUR TIMES! On my caller id, it says "Sydney Mickell".  One of the calls was from Chris Galvez, one was from an unidentified woman, and another was an automatic message.

I recieved a call from my husbands sister in which he does not speak to her and she said that Mr.Crawford had called from a lawyers office. I then called the number given 866-204-3786 and Mr.Crawford questioned me. This is how the conversation went. "do you know why I am looking for your husband?" I replied "Well i do not know I dont even know who you are" He replied " How long have you been married to your husband?" "Do you know that your husband filed for bankrupsty in the past do you know what kind of bills that he has and that he does not pay his bills!" He has a serious situation" The call was being broken up (on a cell) and traveling on public transportation so the call was dropped. I figured that I will call him back once i can get a good connection. Once I was able to call back about 5 min later I had receive a phone mail from this rude peice of *%#@ saying that Im rude for hanging up on him that I better call him right back!
Well, now i was ticked off I called him back and said to him" How dare you call and leave a message on my phone in the manner that you did" Who the hell do you think you are I do not have to call or talk to you." we disscussed the situation more he questioned my mortgage and i told him i dont know what he is talking about. We ended the call by me telling him i will discuss this with my husband and get back to you tomorrow. I called back the next day and Mr.Crawford was not around. Jeremy got on the phone he said that he is his supervisor. I said that I would rather speak to Mr.Crawford seeing that I had allready spoke to him yesterday. Jeremy said that Mr. Crawford said that he had an agreement with me. I said "i dont have any agreement with anyone." Jeremy said that I did once again. I told him that I wanted to go over the details with him. I asked for him account numbers who he owed and so on. I said for him to send me information regarding this and I would be more than happy to work with him. He said no if I do not give him my checking account # right now he will process this and go after my husband.  I do not give my Checking account # to anyone on the phone.  So I told himthat I will make payments via moneyorder. He said fine but, the money payment will be raised from 50month to 250 month. I said NO. the so called agreement was 50. he said
"we dont like to do business with people like you that can not handle a checking account." I got more than ticked off and said What the hell are you trying to call me??? I couldnt take his rude nasty tone and I feel this is all B/S. and hung up on him.

Mr. Kutz called me on my cell phone on 2-2-09 and left a voice message.  He said that he was from the Law office of Sidney Michael and that he had a matter at that the firm that my sister (he had bother of her married names) is going to want to know about. The caller Id showed one number but he left a different number to call him back at.  I called my sister and we are both reporting it.  I hope these people are found and prosecuted.  I would suggest not giving them any information.

Received a call on my answering machine from this number, asking us to call them back regarding another person whom we dont know from another city.  What was this all about, our number is not 411.  How can we stop these low lives from calling our numbers?

this sydney and mickell called me last week about a debt that i owed. were'nt very professional to be a law office,i heard talking in the background. they are just people who need a real job. there office hours are from 6am-6pm get real what law office opens at six in the morning with an 800#.they have called this week leaving recorded messages that i have no intention of responding to.i think they are a ripoff.

I received a letter in the mail for a debt that was already paid and now they want to sue me.  I told the rude man to take me to court many times but he said that his client was not going to waste their time with a small amount that it was and that I just needed to pay this.  Now they are calling my parents..I mean come on why not just call me.  I have contacted my attorney to deal with this situation especially since the letter shows the creditor and then shows an original creditor...SCAM  also for the people that they went after, you would have received a subpeona for court and then you have to respond to it.

Mr. Kutz (no first name) called my home and spoke with my wife about some important legal matter with my brother's property. My wife became suspicious and called me at the office.  I told her I would call the number to find out what this was about - the phone number was 866-204-3786 when I called back a male voice answered: "Sydney Michael Law Office - this call will be recorded"
I asked him about the call my wife had received and they told me they called us because they wanted me to tell my brother to call them - I asked them what this was about and Mr. Kutz - that by the way - his first name is Shawn Kutz - he could not tell me due to federal laws.  I told him they can call him the same way I would have to call him.  
I would not give these people the time of day - if they want to get in touch with someone they can call them directly - I will not do someone else's dirty work.

Has anybody considered calling a local law enforcement agency of FBI office?

Any one who is experiencing these calls should call this number and report them.

Mr. Kutz has been calling me at my work, and now has called my ex-mother in law, old friends, and just this morning my boss.  I am very aware of my debt and have always been very responsible in paying my debts, but recently divorced, not getting child support.  I am thankful to have a job, but I am limited to funds to pay this outstanding debt (at this time).  Now, since Mr. Kutz is now calling my employer, is there any law that prevents this?  Appreciate any advise on this.

Same as all the rest of them already submitted here basically..."Mr. Crawford" from Law offices of Sydney Michael...blah blah blah. He said his office was in California and he an urgent legal matter with the individual they were looking for. I do know the person they are looking for from years ago....WHY ARE THEY CALLING ME??? He had a list of ten names associated with my name and was looking for someone he thought I knew or was my family member because "I was listed as a relative" of that person. WHAT IS THIS??? What are we supposed to do? How do they have all this info? Call back number is the same 866-204-3786 x210. Am I supposed to report this to someone else??

same as all of yours...but I did call and report it (them) to the FCC--(1-888-225-5322)as should EVERYONE who receives these calls. It's too bad that people have stooped to this level of preying on innocent victims!

Mr. Kurtz called and said my daugher owed 2400.00 and advised we need to pay within the hour he called.  I asked what the bill was for and he said he did not know.  He said he could not tell us because the account was sold to another company and we could no longer get a copy of the bill.  The only way we could get a bill is if they went ahead and sued us. I told him I would contact the attorney general to see what they could advise and will go from ther.  Mr. Kurtz said they would not be able to help.  Guess we will see

I keep receiving calls from this number for my ex-husband of 15 years.  I've talked to them in person to please take me off their calling list, as he owes me probably more money than he owes them, but I keep receiving calls.

well it looks like i am not the only one getting badgered by these people. Wife got call at work, I got the call at home. Mr ED Garcia Ext 216. giving all the blah blah about owed debt. I asked him to not call at employer because it is not ok, he got irritated and started using legal jargon like we can strike this conversation legal this and thats. Then puts  Jeremy Gestl on the phone demanding payment wants 401k borrow from friends, family even use another credit card to pay them. I was a little nervous when thretened by law suit, told them bankrupt is next option told me That might not happen. Did not want payment plan said cc company has washed their hands of me but would ask if they would take payment plan if I sent half up front. got no money or I would have paid it already.

My Dad received a call from this particular number from a "Mr. Payne" calling in regards to Sydney Michael. He asked my Dad to call him back to discuss a legal matter between him and my mother who (thanks to my current age and a lack of legal inconsistencies) no longer has any real legal ties. If there was an issue it would have been custody-related. Luckily I was curious to see who this person was and googled the name, only to come across this website. Thanks to this I was able to advise my Dad not to call back.

Unfortunately our home phone does not have caller ID, but he left the 866-204-3786 number for us to call him back at.

Received a call from a person  who said his name was "Carlos" ... asked for my son but was unable to pronnouce our last name... so I am aways a little concerned when that happens... I responded with "there is no one here with that name...his reply was "Oh he said I could reach him here"... (in a rather nice way.Unfortunaetly I responded with its my son but he does not live here...well can I give them his cell... then I asked and where are you from... at that point he gave Atty. Sidney Mickell... and I said I amnot comfortable giving his number out... NOW we are getting the robo calls!  I appreciate everyone's comment and will follow through accordingly
