- Tired of thisI am sick to death of these people saying on the other end of the phone 'sorry about your loss' - I told him to stop lying and tell me what he wanted. They will tell you nothing and then he hung up on me.
Jerks. If they were legit, they would explain exactly what credit card and the account number. I hate these people!- Call type: Debt collector
- Tired of this replies to NikaNika....I never filed probate = so how did they get my info?
- Kathy HerbertGot 2 calls from these clowns. They were asking if I was handling my Husband's Ex-Wife's estate. One at my office (my office really) and one at home. I told the 1st caller I would be the last one on this planet that would be handling her estate. Told the second caller (at our home, never hers) never to call our home again. Thanks to Google I could look up the number after it was on my caller ID. I warned her relatives not to talk to these people. How pathetic that someone would try to scam money from deceased people's families.
- Caller: They did not say.

- Kelly replies to ClarityThis is a scam and you sound like a person that works for this company.

- Be WaryMy niece received a call from this number-1-888-806-9073-different number but same place--Ascension Point.
The representative asked if she was an heir to her step-mother's estate and wanted a phone number for her father. I was wary and *69 gave this phone number. When I call I got a "shuck and jive" about having authorization and finally was told that the company had account related to the "estate" . I did not provide any information and advise you to be skeptical if you are contacted.- Caller: Ascension Point

- CMI received a call from this number who wanted to talk to someone who had authority to discuss financial matters about the late XXXX XXXXXX, who happened to be my ex husband who recently passed away. I told them he was my ex and that we had not been married for 19 years. They wanted to know who the executor was and I told them I had no idea, that I was assuming it was his last wife, #6 or #7. They said they would take my name off their list. How did they get my name and number in relation to him since we have not been married for 19 years? Figured it was a scam to begin with.
- Caller: Did not give name of company
- J. SandersDo not answer a call from this #, as it is a scam!

- Paula StoryNothing makes me more angry than an unsolicited call. That said, at first I did not answer this Sherry Shinki or Chinski but as she rambled on I realized it was way too early for anycall to a person in my time zone. Also, that I had never heard of a Thomas J. Mason - deceased. As usual these calls all smell bogus and she also she Mam'ed me. I hate that too.
So I told her she had the wrong number. Take my number off your list. I did not give her any information. She did not believe me. My phone has a private line and is not listed anywhere so I think she was just dialing for dollars with info that had to be at least 10 years old.
I hope someone can stop these crooks and put them in Jail - after they swindle enough berieved folks will their ascension be at the end of a rope? I doubt it they will just skirt on to hurt others. Grr.
Call types below whould include criminal activity...- Caller: Ascension Collection
- Sandy WestmorelandAs with everyone else, so glad I checked out this number, 888-806-9074, before returning the call. They called regarding my father-in-law who passed away in March. All I can hope for is karma to come around and bite Ascension Point in the ass! Yes, a little bad language, but you said to only post "truthful" information and that is how I truthfully feel. : )

- bridget smithI got a call today from 1-888-806-9073 about my late father in law. they tried to press me for a contact number for my mother in law. I refused but took the information that they were willing to give me. I'm not passing that information on now that i have read the comments. people that take advantage of widows and children of the deceased are pitiful human beings. this company needs to be prosecuted so they can't do this to anybody else.
- DrWe got a letter & several phonecalls similar to ones noted here when my grandma died a month ago. Thanks for all the good info on these scammers - we won't respond!

- chris maher replies to I will take my earrings off and beat theI just received, yesterday, a letter from my attorney from Ascension Point. They are claiming that my deceased father owed over $2000 on a credit card that I am almost positive has been paid off by a third party, hired to consolidate my dad's bills. I am almost positive this 3rd party paid off everything and my dad was finished with their services, but I can't find any paperwork on them. Now, Ascension Point has somehow found out who my attorney is and sent him a letter stating my dad's estate, which is now mine, is responsible for the money. My attorney's letter is wantine to discuss how to respond to the letter.
I am really tired of this. What can I do to make it stop? - Chris replies to Nikathe "outstanding debt" that Ascension Point is claiming, has already been pain in full over a year before the death of my father.
- Chris replies to ClarityYou sound like you work for Ascension Point. I have not received a single letter, statement, or any kind of bill from the people that Ascension Point claims the bill is from. If there was a bill in my dads name, why have no statements been received before the phone call from AP? How did AP, or the supposed original bill people know my dad had passed away when I never received a bill and this "creditor" never sent anything back to them refusing them payment.
- BobThere was a phone message left at my home about an hour ago from Ascension Point concerning my mother (who died three weeks ago). Unfortunately (or fortunately) I had also been receiving calls claiming to be Citibank about unpaid credit charges. A trip to an actual Citibank proved these calls to be bogus. This put me on alert to check out the mysterious Ascension Point before calling back. Thanks to everyone for posting their experiences. These people are bottom feeders and I'm thrilled there's a way we can share the information.
