This phone number called my mother about my grandmother (her ex mother in law) asking who the executor for her estate is. My grandmother is still alive and well. This sounds like a total scam to me!

I took this call because my caller ID indicated it was from Ascension (which is the company that owns the hospital where my husband died). I expected to have to explain that my husband was gone since it has only been three weeks but the man on the phone immediately wanted to speak to the executor of Howard's estate. Since there basically is no estate, I was a little confused. After his persistence, I finally just told him there was no estate to have an executor for and that was when he decided to hang up. This was so odd especially as I initially thought it pertained to the hospital.
It was very helpful to find your information on the internet - at least now I am not worried that I did something wrong. This company is extremely pathetic - it barely waited 3 weeks after my husband's death to start their scam.
Just an additional note - when I checked the phone number that Ascension Point called from, it was 888-806-9073 so they are using a block of numbers to harass those of us in mourning, not just the 888-806-9074. Perhaps if we let funeral homes know so that as part of their initial standard routine they could warn the bereaved families of these types of scams. It is really difficult to stop people like this but we have to start somewhere.

Received call on my answering machine from "Travis" at Ascension Point (888-806-9074, Ext 4075). Message was for whomever manages the affairs of my former wife, who passed the end of April. Funny thing is we had been divorced in excess of 20 years, both remarried, and not even remotely involved with or concerned about the estate of the other. You bottom feeders need to be working for the next POTUS!

  • I think I would like to meet your mom. I may even want to borrow her to deal with the same idiots. A policemen friend suggested a loud whistle  or an air horn.

Jeanette (888-420-2510 x 2138) from Ascension Point called my sister inquiring about my late mother's estate. My sister did not give out any of my mother's info nor did she provide my number. I informed her not to take calls from them any longer. Unfortunately loved ones are harassed by sharks who have no consideration or conscience.

This company called me regarding my late Fiance's "Outstanding debts". He was on Social Security Disability and there was never an obituary.

My sister  passed away in late Nomember 2016.  Her husband received a letter from Ascension Point  in late December 2016 requesting information on her estate without referencing any particular creditor.  I am the executor of her estate and I contacted all of her known creditors shortly after her death and gave all of the estate info to those who requested it.  When we received the letter, I googled Ascension Point and after reading the posts on this and other sites ignored the letter.  Yesterday her husband received a call from Mr. Ortiz in regard to a debt from one of the companies I had previously contacted and given the estate info to.  He passed the call info to me and when I returned the call, it was Ascension Point.  I hung up before speaking to anyone.  Since I had given the estate info to the creditor they referenced, I thought it was just an attempt to get additional info about the estate..

I just got a phone call from Bryan Watkins from Ascension Point regarding my fathers recent death. They said they got my contact info from a "good faith" web search for similar names. Very tacky and poor timing to try to scam money.

    Grieving Daughter
AscensionPoint.com, 888-806-9074, poses as debt collectors and scams families with deceased family members.  They called regarding my recently deceased mother, who always paid bills on time and, in fact, has never had any debt.  I do not understand how a company, who commits fraud can continue to operate with a website and have a BBB rating. They are scammers and frauds, who prey on families in grieving.

Message left on our answering machine from Casey Springer of Ascension, ext. 4089,  wanting to talk to someone authorized to discuss the financial matters of "the late Linda Fulmer."  We have had our telephone number for many, many, MANY years, and have never been acquainted with or  heard of a "Linda Fulmer."  How they put our phone # with this person is unknown.  We assume it is some sort of scam.

My father is in the hospital, and I'm getting a call from this number asking me to verify his birthdate due to his passing.

I was sure it's the hospital, letting me know my father died in a really [***] up way!

    Terrible timing...
