- KarenThey called and left a message on my phone saying it's urgent I call back. Does anyone know who they are suppose to be representing. I reported it Law Society of Upper Canada but they couldn't help me. Where do I go now to get help and more information on Palmer and Boccia??
- cherylI read the classified section in the Toronto Star today. July 29/08 There was a job advertised for a credit and collection clerk and to call 416-637-2600 Ex. 1432 Joanne or Ex. 1435 Joe. I called to ask the name of company and low and behold it was Palmer and Boccia Professional Corporation. I Googled the name and came across all these complaints on this page. I do not want to work for an outfit like this. I hope this is passed along to the authorities.
- JI think I found a website for these people:
http://www.pomerandboccia.com/index.htm
It's Pomer not Palmer... Not sure about whether they are legit. or not but you can put anything on a website. - JamesI just got a call from Palmer and Boccia as well (Caroline). I had setteled a TD Visa account directly with TD about a year ago, and was surprised that I was getting a call that I owed money. After doing some research, I found this message board, and am glad that I did not pay them immediatly. I had also called the YRP to report this fraud.

- Mel| 1 replyThe have called me a few times and they are a collection company. I just got off the phone with one of their reps. There was a debt from 10 yrs ago for $200 and for some reason I am just hearing about it now. I asked to be sent a letter and they will be sending it out today-no problems getting her to send it. The lady was polite and courtious and everything she said was indeed a fact; I made a point of giving no information to her and all of the info she gave was still correct. If you are polite to them; you will receive a polite response. She also gave me all of the banking info and when I talked to TD Bank it is indeed a collection agency. Not fraud.
- DevynI am so relieved after reading all your comments. I just got off the phone tonight with someone from Palmer and Bochhia. They told me that I had two days to pay $1800 and if not I will be sued. He told me he was working along side the lawyer who was preparing the claim(David Palmer??). He told me my wages would be garnished but if I paid some money by Friday I could get an extension. He also gave me a deposit account number to put the money into. I am furious after reading this!!

- dannyI'm sorry Mel this is fraud this is my story, two days ago I recieved a disturbing phone call from a woman who call me at work claiming that I owed money with my dead father on a loan from TD Canada Trust. I was so upset that she would make such claims she said that was that and I had to pay some loan that was taking out so I contacted my attorney who explained to me that he researched this company and found out that they are in court more than you can imagine But no for collections but for fraud they play the numbers game ring up 300 homes a day get 20 homes to send them 400.00 not a bad deal.
Oh ya by the way I contacted TD canada Trust and they said there is no such claim I explained to them what had happened and they explained to me that there is a statue of limitations on such things I guess there is statue of limitations on HARASMENT
Contact PHONE BUSTERS AND REPORT THEM THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO COMBAT THESE PEOPLE>- Caller: pomer boccia
- DevynI am sorry as well Mel. It is fraud when they are misrepresenting themselves to
people. They are indeed a collection agency and all of us on here are aware of that. However when they contact you they state that they are calling from a "law firm". I also spoke to someone who was very nice and friendly to me and I had made some arrangements. The next thing I knew this person didn't work there anymore. I was then being accused of not responding to them or their letters. Although I did call. They had no record of the conversations I shared with this "nice" person. That is when they started the legal threats and harassment. I have stopped all communication with this "professional corporation". Be careful Mel she should have asked you for verification of information so that she knew she was talking to the right person. Also a debt that was 10 years old?? Danny was right in the fact that there is a statute of limitations on things like this. Everyone, just be careful and look out for yourselves, because no one else will!!!!- Caller: Palmer and Bocchia
- DevynHad another call...thats 4 calls in three days!! This guy I could barely understand and he sounded like he had been dragged out from the gutter to make the call. He was from the "litigation" department and was getting ready to litigate my file unless I called back. Just another note there phone number is no longer coming up on my call display like it did before. Its know unknown.

- DevynCalled the number last night and did some poking around. Pomer is in
Family Law and the other one is real estate law. Where does collections fit into all this???? Penny, where are you??? I want to hear what you have to say about all this...- Caller: Palmer and Bothersome
- M--Yeh wow I'm glad I found this site, I was about to send them money!. I was dealing with Yolanda at ext 1450. She said that TD had hired them to collect on my past due account. However that account has been written off and is over 4 years old. My concern is how they found my personal information. My bet is its someone who works at a credit agency, is stealing info from peoples files. And came up with this idea to scam people, by threatening them to take them to court. Has anyone call the cops on them? These [***] need to be put in jail.

- JGJust listened to a voicemail from Mr Bob Wilson from Palmer and Boccia Professional corporation. He asked my girlfriend (and he called her by her first name only)to call him back regarding a business proposition.
Thanks to you all for sharing your stories posted here, I'll be calling him back myself.- Caller: Palmer & Boccia Professional Corporation
- JLBI received a voice mail from Yolanda extension 1250 Aug 29 regarding an urgent legal matter. Upon calling her back, she claimed I had some outstanding loan or something with TD bank which ceased being TD in 1997 or 1998. She told me based on my present excellent credit rating (how does she know) she'd give me the opportunity to clear this up before they put it into Small Claims court. I was dumbfounded. She couldn't give me detail other than the amount owing. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and why I am just hearing about this. She claims collection agencies couldn't find me - well I found that hard to believe - I've moved once in 12 years and am a current TDCanadaTrust customer ever since TD and Canada Trust joined forces. She suggested I go to my bank manager and give him some NRT # and if they wanted all outstanding money to call her then she could probably work something out for me by having the amount reduced. She was very pleasant but I didn't like the threat of something of legal action, the lack of information and how she would be able to lessen payback. I spoke with a lawyer friend who told me since it has been over 6 years since TD's closure and the Statue of Limitations (SOL) is up to ignore the call and report back should any further calls be made to me. The lawyer based his advice on the Statue of Limitations prior to 2004 legislation. I will use the info on this board to deal with this - ask for the Law Society ID number, etc...I just wonder where are they getting this information from?????

- jHere's a link to an Ontario Government website that covers the 'act' pertinent to collections. Pomer & Boccia does not follow these rules

- S.S.Got a call from Palmer & Bocher Proffesional Corp. Ask for me but I said I was not here. The lady that called gave me the name of the company and was really, really rude and hung up on me. I called the number on my phone, did a *67 to block, but got an answering machine wanting an extention. I guess the next time they call, I will let them know I have reported them to the police.
Thanks for all the above messages, I am well aware now that this is a scam. Even so, I am not even in dept. - PaulJust got a call from them as well. My number was issued by an internet company about 2 months ago called Zingotel.
All my calls are recorded so I will wait for the next call and ask the questions in the initial posting on this site.
Pomer and Boccia are located at Steeles and Weston Rd. in Toronto
Will keep you posted.- Caller: Pomer and Boccia
