They called me today, I lost my job and could not pay 10 months balance 2k canadian tire. They are saying they will take court action against me, I said I owe the money to canadian tire I ll pay to them and hanged up the phone.  What should I do, since they know my phone number and soon they will unfortunatelly abusevily harrast me.

Ignore them - they're a fraud.

My mother got this fraud letter from the Pomer and Boccie " professional corporation" stating that she Canadian Tire Bank and will commence suitable immediate action against her if my mother don't pay within next 7 days. The funny thing is that got our mailing address right except for my mother's first name. With this first I noticed I immediately knew it is a scam.

I want to file this to the authority but I don't know how to file this the police online.

This is a completely legitimate law firm (legal professional corporation) that has a collection agency as a separate department. Just google them! The people calling you are not lawyers, nor do they ever say they are. But they are working within a law firm. They are not scammers, and what they are doing is perfectly legal.  Remember that any creditor or properly designated collection agency can sue you (in Small Claims Court if the amount is under $25k). The paperwork is ridiculously simple to fill out, you certainly don't need to be a lawyer to do it. Some agencies will, some won't... they will all have a dollar value threshold and it will also depend on various other factors.   (Whether they think you have assets or employment income, the time elapsed, the documentation of the debt they have, how busy they are...).  
I defaulted on 2 payday loans in the $500 range. I ignored the first one and got taken to Small Claims. I ended up paying the whole amount plus about $250 in court costs. So when P&B contacted me about the other one, I made them a settlement offer and settled for slightly less than they asked for. Would they have bothered to sue for $500?  Who knows. Could they? In my particular case, sure they could have, if they wanted to. I wasn't about to call their bluff.

For anyone saying you'll only deal with the bank involved..YOU DIDN'T to begin with and thats why they excercised their right to pursue litigiation against you or hire a third party collection agency. There are different methods and actions used by banks to recover their debt. Also not all bill collectors are as nasty as you make them ALL out to be. If you took the time to address the matter instead of sweeping it under the rug..deal with it head on, you'd get alot farther other than avoiding your bill,hiding behind the phone.and REFUSING TO PAY YOUR BILL. Take the time to listen and you may actually be advised how to begin REESTABLISHING your credit ;)

I keep on getting calls from this number and he claims his name is Marcus from a law firm and saying we tlaked 2 weeks ago ( which we didn't) and if I didn't contact them and pay them thousands of dollars by next Friday that people would show up at my house and things would happen, etc. They have called my inlaws before like 3 weeks ago or more and said the same thing we called my credit card company and they confirmed they don't have other people out there collecting for them... So very suspicious I have saved the voice mail to my phone as proff. I urge nobody to give these people any money at all!!

These guys called asking for someone who doesn't own my phone number. I acquired this line a couple of weeks ago and im assuming they're interested in speaking to the guy who used to be the prior owner. Anyway I try to explain to them that this was the case but the person on the line started giving me attitude so I hung up. Next time they call I will be less understanding.

They're a collections agency that has a law firm attached to the name. No lawyer will take on a debtor owing a miniscule amount of money. The cost vs return is too high. It's all smoke and mirrors to intimidate and threaten. I've dealt with these people. They have nothing power but try to intimidate to get you to pay.

After 2 years of not getting any money, a collection agency, or the creditor, loses the ability to sue to collect in Ontario.   Tell them to pound salt.

Some of us fall on hard times Just like You said ive been harassed for over a year an Just got a lettre stating they have a jugement against me an a writ to seizure an sale for Under 5000.00 i have been unable to work for over a year due to a serious illness an no income its pretty hard to fight for my life right now with these rude pricks on me constantly, So i Hope all You people thinking some of us are deadbeats fall on hard times or become seriously ill then maybe You wont wanna use the terms your using to call us deadbeats, before my illness i had a perfect crédit rating an paid all my bills on time!! Think before You write an speak because This Guy myself an by the looks of It many others are being threatened and harassed by these people an i Hope You all experience what were going through!! Thanks for having the nerve to speak up against these goodies who dont know the Whole situation an comment like their So Much better!!!

She has called my house relentlessly and threatned my father this morning stating she knew where he lives & stated his address implying she was going to do something if the debt wasn't paid off. Can i ask what ended up happening in your case?

I got a call from this number today saying I owed money and needed to clear it up asap. That if I didn't action would be taken against me .. My gut told me to check into it and find out more about them. No such law firm under polymer and boccia with this number. So now I'm asking what the hell is going on and why the hell are they telling me to make my monthly payments thru etransfer or TD Canada  Trust?? Something isn't right here.. How are they getting our info and able to do this???

Is it illegal for these people to call you 14 to 17 times a day and bothering your family members at 7 am  that just dosent seem right to me

They tried this a few years ago on me and are currently trying again. In Ontario a company only has 2 years from the date of your last payment to take you to court. Do not acknowledge the debt in any way and most certainly do not make a payment because then they can take you to court. These companies buy the debt for pennies on the dollar and then try to scare you into paying them.
