Mark... just a correction .... Yes they HAVE to follow the same rules and regulations as any other collection agent out there... I spoke directly to the Ministry of Consumers Affairs and they confirmed that with me... I also filed a complaint about this company and their collections procedures.

I recently applied to rent a condo and my debt with Canadian Tire showed up as an 09 rating and says that Canadian Tire wrote it off but I paid it through Palmer and Boccia in April.  Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?
And yes, every single one of you that says the are rude and bullying and badly behaved are all absolutely right.
Does this mean that since I paid these losers my outstanding balance that I'm screwed now with this 09 rating, which apparently is BAD, even though I paid it in full?

Polmer and Boccia, it's funny how they want your money put in there trust account. Let me ask you! If the Canadian Tire Debt is written off, and there telling you they are representing Canadian Tire or did they buy that debt from them for pennies on the dollard and they are representing themselves. That would be very interesting to find out. On all there legall documents it states that they represent canadian tire legally but are they? If there is any former employees out there that can give us some insight, Please do.

He is old and will fly straight to hell. lawyer might make it in limbo but collections will go straight to hell. These people are not frauds or fakes, they are the real deal. and their company is POMER & BOCCIA. they are located in Vaughan, Ontario. If they say they owe you a debt call them back and get it verified, because if you ignore it chances are, you WILL receive a court summons. A dear friend of mine, was summoned to court for a debt owed which was roughly 1100, but with court fees and costs it came to about 3600. This company took him to court, after he ignored their phone calls: after referring to information on this site and plenty others. his fault for believing the Internet. but whatever, just a fair warning.

I picked up the telephone and a gentleman on the other line identified himself as andrew..from the law firm of Palmer and boucher . He asked to speak to my sister Frances..who was not here at the time. He informed me that he has spoken with her several times and asked me to get her to return his call. Told him she has been real busy and he said he knew due to their previous conversations. I am letting my sister know that this company is fraudulent. I dont know if she has spoken with him or not. I called this number back and it sounds legit..an answering machine came on with a woman's voice saying that Palmer and Boucher and Associates are now closed to leave a message for they will get back to you. Have to speak with my sister to see if they swindled her out of any money or if they got any portinent information from her..things they can  use fraudulently.

They are a real company, and yes they are a legit collection agency... HOWEVER, their collection practices are illegal... threatening, harrassing, disclosing confidential information etc...and for this guy Andrew to give you information when it's wasn't you who has the debit is against the Collection Act.  Just make sure you and your sister know your rights!!!

i got calls from this same company claiming they were representing a credit card company and were suing me for what i owe on the credit card.  never give them any info on yourself address or other contact info. this is fraudulant and they are lying. it is actually illegal for them to threaten you and they can be charged.

You better make sure you absolutely don't owe any money anywhere.  Order a credit report on yourself, assuming you have a credit card to get one.  If you don't owe money, don't worry about it.  If you do, make sure you don't ignore anything that gets mailed to you.  My friend owed CT $$ and I don't know if it was these guys that went after her, but some law firm/collections agency got a judgement against her & they garnished her wages for like 16 months.  It was nuts.   Just sayin.

Dont owe money anywhere! Every body owe's money even the collectors. All it's about is fear. Please guy's fear is what makes you weak and they can smell it. What ever gets mailed to you ignore it and who ever calls you entertain them with i dont know. The collection people are person's that buy bad debt and try to collect from you. The original debt that you owe as been written off, so that means your cedit wont get any better if you pay it or not for 7 years. I went throught this process. i went to court and found them guilty of not serving me when they said they did. They were going to garnigh wages sell my house bla bla bla. Next is a meeting between you the judge and the scammer. I told him i was going to pay nothing because he said he represented a creditor and he was in reality representing himself. He was furious and said i will take you to trial. He sounded like my daughter and i have not heard from him. nuff said they have insurance coverage no different as your car ins. God bless.......

The caller identified himself as being a lawyer.
He asked for Matt L**man.  I told them he hadn't worked here in a couple years.
He wouldn't identify the name of the law firm, and just because he sounded sketchy, I googled the #.
Found this page, and I now believe this is a fraudulent come-on from a collection agency.
Scumbags.  These people are not legitimate.  
I have nothing to hide... they are not after me... nor do I have any information that would help, but, they would be smarter to be honest and sincere, and they might get some co-operation.

I am in the process of being screwed around with Pomer & Boccia's Mr. Gerry Joly. I had a debt with Canadian Tire Bank and do to sickness the insurance for the credit card wouldn't cover me even though I paid the monthly premiun. The collection agency side of this company chased me for a period of time threats of taking my home away from me, going after my bank account and few other things. I was in the hospital at one point when they called my wife and when she reported I was in the hospital with a heart attack, they stated that she was making up a story thus they were launching a suit against me to take my house, they even called the hospital to speak to me, but the call was prevented  as I was in an ICU ward.
A woman named Giuilia called my house spoke to my wife and than me and offered us a payout for our debt. We begged and borrowed from our families and came up with the amount and sent on to them. I even followed up with this woman who indicated the monies were received and the matter was closed. But in November of 2012 Mr Jolly called and wanted the rest of the money, this came out of the blue I thought the debt was finished. I explained the situation and he said he would look into it and not to worry. Next thing I know I have a judgment against me for the full amount including 25% interest. He has a writ against my house and he has a writ on my bank account. I received all this information this week April 2/2013. Mr Joly told me he would resolve all these problems and have both writs lifted, which has not done. I spoke to Canadian Tire Bank today who informed me that Pomer & Boccia is their collection agency as well as their lawyer, which I didn't know. Also they have no track of my payment settlement and when I asked Guilia back in Feb/12 for a letter it was in the mail. I have since been very sick and there has not been or most likely everything back on track but Pomer & Boccia's Mr Joly has prevented this to happen. I am not a deadbeat or a loser just a guy who went through a terrible period in his life. I would rather deal directly with Canadian Tire myself. And if your a former employee of this company why did you leave? or the other question what were they doing that bothered you. Be honest!

Don't ignore the calls. They will put a hold on your bank account after they receive a judgment in court.  Also, don't trust that c***sucker Jerry Gauley or whatever his name is.  He said on the phone that he would call the bank in the morning and take the hold off because we came to an agreement.  He said he wouldn't return any money already taken.  What he neglected to mention was that he was going to wait for two days and then clear out every last penny.  It wasn't what he had already taken, it was what he was going to take.  He ignored my calls and took my rent money.  How is a person supposed to live up to obligations when there is no money.  Yes, I owe the money.  Yes, I intend to pay.  No, I will never trust that [***], motherf***er, c***sucking son of a [***] again.

Received a call from a lady from Palmer and Boccia, stated she was going to take me to court, freeze my bank account and numerous other things unless I paid $1100.00 to them within 2 weeks. She was extremely rude. The number is not 905-663-1440 it was 905-663-1436. What can be done to stop these people and are they a legitimate law firm?

CHALLENGE THEM, HE IS REAL BUT A FRAUD. HE ONLY FEEDS OFF THE WEAK, BUT RUNS FROM THE STRONG. HE DOES HAVE THE CANADIAN TIRE ACCOUNT FOR COLLECTION BUT HE BUYS IT FROM THEM AND COLLECTS FOR HIM AND THE FIRM. HE WILL TELL YOU THAT THE CANADIAN TIRE OFFICIALS WILL SHOW UP IN COURT BUT HE WONT SHOW UP HIMSLEF BUT HE WILL CONFERANCE CALL THE MATTER. IT'S ALL A GAME OF SNAKES AN LATTERS. HE WILL TEST, IF YOU WILL CLIMB, IF NOT HE WILL STRIKE. WHAT HE DOES IS PLAY WITH EMOTION, WHAT HE DOES NOT DO IS FAIR PLAY. I AM WRITING THIS IN UPPER CASE BEACAUSE HE IS NOT REGISTERED IN THE UPPER CANADA REGISTER, AS A LAWYER THAT IS, HIMSELF. WHAT THE THE TOPIC OF THE STORY IS, DONT LAY DOWN TO HIM, STAND UP AND REGARDLESS WHAT HE SAY'S TO YOU JUST SAY I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT AND TELL HIM THAT WHAT EVER THE MATTER IS SEND IT IN WRITTING AND WE WILL GET THE MATTER RESOLVE. Just got a call, this lady asked for my mom and I told her she is not here. She asked what time to call and I told her around 6, today and tomorrow then she said she is calling grin a law office and she won't be in the office. Then she asked if I am her daughter and I said no just a friend then she hang up on me.
