Got a call from this telephone number, 02078 909052 and due to the way I answer the phone the caller asked 'Is this a business line?' I replied 'who are you calling?'
The response was that they are doing a survey but that it's only applicable to domestic households, so sorry for disturbing me.

Our telephone number isn't given out to anyone, so it must have been randomly dialled, but from now on I will be sure to answer calls from unknown numbers as though we're a business.

This number called at 11.08 this morning. I answered it almost immediately and the person hung up. Please do whatever is necessary to stop these people a) being so annoying as to ring on a Saturday morning (a weekend and my own time) and b) to not have the decency to respond when I answer.

I am totally " fed up " of these people telephoning me every other day.
I let the phone ring till it clicks onto my answer machine, then the caller hangs up.
Obviously automated dialing.
The next day, the same thing again...and so it goes on day after day.
This has now been going on for 2 weeks.
Try getting the calls stopped...NO WAY, WHO EVER ONE TELEPHONES, THEY CANNOT STOP THE CALLS & SUGGEST YOU TELEPHONE ANOTHER NUMBER.
The only way I can  stop these calls is to change my phone number.
These people are TOSSER_ !!!!!!!!

No Chloe, I think I'd rather spend the "few moments of my time" on something worthwhile to me, not fattening your employers bank accounts. I couldn't care less if the staff are "just doing their jobs"- that's never  a good excuse for the rude, parasitic behaviour your company and its ilk exhibit. You and the rest of your pond life have wasted my time with calls, I promise I'll return the compliment by wasting yours.

If the government won't put an end to your industry's practices, the public backlash will, sooner or later.

On the contrary, it is very easy to get genuine Market Research calls stopped.
1.  Get the name of the companhy
2.  Go to their website and use the "Contact Us" facility.
3.  Instruct them to remove your derails from ALL their data bases for ALL their companies.
4.  Job done.

The word ALL is important because some of these MR companies are part of a group and opting out of one will not opt you out of others.  In addition different groups of researchers do different surveys so opting out of one data base could leave you on another.

This works for all genuine Market Research companies like Ipsos/Mori, GFK/NOP, TNS/Kantar etc.  It does not work for the fake overseas survey companies like UK Opinion Polls and Consumer Lifestyles, as they are not Market Research companies, they simply collect our personal information to sell on.

This number rang our house at 8.10 last night, just as I was trying to put my two boys to bed.
Thank goodness I didn't answer, as the person on the other end would not have liked my response!!!! This is getting beyond a joke - when will these scumbags realise that our phone numbers are not open access for them to ring with their rubbish!!!

They are 3rd party telephone sales companies who ask you questions then forward your details on to other companies in the hope of commission - there should be a law about this, but there isn't - it's just another way of doing door-step selling but via the phone!!!!

And for the record, I don't answer any call I don't know without checking the number on here first, and if it is one of you tel companies, I am keeping a record, as I am sure something is going to happen soon, and I'll be one of the first to report!!!!! - I hope others take note!!!!

Are you mad, I can't believe you have the gore to admit!!!! All I can say is, you either get paid loads of money or you just haven't had the pleasure of being hounded at all times of the day and night by your very annoying companies!!! And no I won't take into consideration that you are human and you are just doing your job, you people are a pain in the .....................

Don't get into a state.  Just read my post of 29th April and you can find out how to stop them.  It's easy and only takes a few minutes.

Just got a call at 12.30 Sunday lunch time !!!! Didn't answer and pleased that I didn't, I am sick and tired of all these calls, and strongly object to being disturbed on a Sunday.

Had a call from this number while out,looks like I did not miss anything,although I prefer to be able to answer these tossers,and then I just abuse them loudly until they put the phone down,what a bunch of [***].FIGHT BACK !!!

a dozen calls a day from this number,very annoying as I am disabled and has rung off before I get there.

Some indian guy told me to speak plain english.from GFKNOP market survey.  over the phone .i said to him ok now lets check our passports .no no no no no no then he put the phone down.now thats a job for our police to raid this place ,,,,,,

I am FED UP with the calls I am getting from this number!!!! They have phoned me every hour
to-day 'Sunday'! They do not leave a message and promptly hang up when I have answered. These calls should be blocked to households.

Not likely to be market research.. number is more likely to belong to Fredrickson International trying to collect a debt.  I get calls all the time for the previous person that had my number.. they must have run up debts.
TPS does not cover these people calling the wrong people.

Simplest way to deal with them is to invoice them for the time they are wasting of yours, then take them to the small claims court if they don't pay.

Another thing you could do, is stop giving your details to websites and letting them pass them on to their partners.. I don't get tele marketing calls because I don't let my details get bandied about.

sometimes the questions can be quite ridiculous, but remember, the interviewer did not choose to ask you this question, they have no choice. HSBC probably hired GFK NOP to do a survey on behalf of them so that they can gather information on how to improve their customer service. its never to take your details and commit fraud, if they were committing fraud dont you think the whole company would have been shut down by now? so instead of getting angry at the interviewer, get angry at your bank. the interviewers tend to be teenagers as there arent many people who would do this job full time so please, bare this in mind.

how about you email GFK NOP and ask them to take your number off the system, the interviewer can't do it themselves as their computers are built for the survey, not the system of numbers. so simply email GFK NOP and they'll fix it. as for the nuisances part, the TPS system doesn't get rid of marketing calls, only sales calls, so how about instead of taking it out of the interviewer, take it out of the TPS system.

also claimed to be calling on behalf on my bank and said that my number was from a random dialling program... that's strange how did they know my bank then... Were a little surprised when I started asking THEM for information, name of their compliance officer, address etc! I'm also on TPS and ex directory!
