- a.c.coskerconsidering i have never used this site i am very annoyed that i have been billed for it. i am also annoyed with the caviller attitude of the information provided by a person called rob dated 20 june 2008.i never give my card detail to any one other than a secure site that i have delt with before. where this comment ends up i don't know and i don't know if i will get a reply
- DJWThis number is definately Mastercare Product Support. It is a division of Currys and Comet. You should claa them and ask why the charge was made.
- Caller: Matercare Product Support
- Jenny| 2 repliesMy card was billed for £7.99 - statement said ~Product Support AG. I purchased a new computer from Curry's recently and this £7.99 was shown on the receipt but included in the total I paid. Barclays have refunded it with no further questions!
i - The answerThe number relates to a company that process product insurance and aftersales care for white goods and IT products. If you take up a product insurance plan after buying a product you will get this charge. I recently bought a product from a DSGi store (Dixons, Currys, PC world group) and have this charge on my statement as I requested extra insurance.
- Y BonniciThey took £12.43 from my credit card... why and who gave them permission, this is fraud.
- Caller: Comet
- Annoyed & out of pocket| 2 repliesThey took payments from my credit card as well for this 'service', despite me specifying that I didn't want any such service to the attendant when I got a computer from PC World. I also regard this as fraud. When I called the number, they immediately cancelled the DD, but refused to reimburse me, suggesting I take it up with the store. I'm in the process of doing this, but will never shop at one of their stores again, since I don't want them dipping into my account whenever the fancy takes them.
- SSIt's normally for renewing insurance/guaratess on products from curry's or comet
- nick lamkin| 1 replyI too have been charged £20 by these people. How on earth are they doing it.
Nick - JohnI too have just discovered a deduction of £42.00 GBR on my credit card statement, the only reference showed was AG 0844 800 6080. Assuming it was a telephone number I dialled it, only to be advised by a re recorded voice that they were not available. A "nice little earner" are the words that spring to mind. I will try again tomorrow, office hours, to attempt to establish the reason.
Others please be warned! - a pc buyeryeah i had teh same thing --- i knew that PC world had charged me for insurance -- they gave me 3 months free -- and then said i could cancel it after those 3 months -- i checked my statements and couldn't see anything related to the insurance and so (stupidly) assumed it had cancelled all by its little self -- the problem was that I didn't recognise 'PRODUCT SUPPORT AG 0844 800 6080' as PC world -- only just asked what it was after 9 months paying it -- however since my pc screen has a tiny flaw in it i'm gonna take it back now heh heh and get a replacement -- THEN cancel the insurance -- anyway .. such is the life of an idiot ....
- Melanie Foster| 4 repliesRegistered as 'Product Support' on a VISA card statement and charging me each month. Do not know what this is, want to cancel but unable to get through
- Michael| 1 replySame thing happened to me called my credit card company they refunded the funds to me, but now understanding where and who is doing it, it would be in reference to a digital camera I bought from Dixons. I know for a fact I did not what any insurance for the camera and again if they are charging me for this its fraud. This is fraud and I'm definately need to call them to reverse it. Thanks guys helping understand bit more whats happening there
- Caller: Dixons
- John| 2 repliesI had this too, a month after purchase of a new PC at PC World. Credit card company looking into it.
