- Sleuth!Found this number (0844 800 6080) on my latest credit card statement. Looking back a further 2 months I found £10 had been taken each time. What is this???? Then the "sleuth" got to work! I punched the telephone number into my search engine on my computer and this website came up. Then I remembered: in October I had notification of renewal for Coverplan maintainance insurance for my electric cooker. When I called the telephone number to renew I asked if there was any discount for regular customers. I was told - sorry, no - oh, just a moment, you can pay £10 per month and it would be taken it off my credit card. What ....... says I, that comes to £120 a year not the £140 requested, payable in one go!!!! More admin and less interest. What sense does that make? So, although I prefer to make my payments in one go and then forget about them, I went for the £10 per month. Incidentally, the Coverplan insurance did arrive. So maybe I was the lucky one this time?
- AliI have had the same problem and they can't locate me on their systems. I never asked for this cover to the best of my knowledge and they have charged me all year without me knowing until I tried to investigate it whilst doing my tax return. I am so angry about it.
- Caller: Dixons
- Dave| 1 replyNot a call but an unauthorised charge on my credit card for cover on a TV I bought at Currys. I said "no" to the offer of an extended warranty but they went ahead and charged me anyway.

- Ronan HydeFound a couple of deductions on my credit card. Relates to a fridge and freezer purchased from Currys. I dialled the Freefone number (many thanks to SayNoTo0870.com) 08000 665833 then selected option 3 for "any other enquiries" and the chap I spoke to cancelled it straight away and promised the refund.
Just wondering what would have happened if I'd made the purchase with cash?- Caller: TechGuys
- MWBought a laptop at PC World. The salesman was insistent that we would get 3 months free service plan cover. Despite telling him I never took out such cover on anything because it was not worth the price he kept relentlesly going on that the 3 months was free and I wouldn't be charged anything else. This went on for about half an hour whilst they looked for my laptop in the warehouse. I eventually gave up and agreed. My laptop then magically appeared from the warehouse. £11.99 appeared on my receipt and came off as a 'Managers Special'. I thought no more about it. A few months later whilst going through our credit card statements we saw the telephone number 08448006080 and deductions of £11.99. It took a while to realise that this was in connection with the laptop. There was no free 3 months. The deductions started the month after our purchase. They had 5 months deductions before we twigged. I called the credit card company and they wouldn't stop the payments. I called the number a couple of evenings and they were closed with no indication when they were open. I went to PC World and after a serious discussion with the Manager was refused a refund. I pointed out a number of such scams involving DSG, my personal credentials, my wife being a witness and how they thought they would get along at the small claims court. They still pushed back and said I couldn't have a cash refund. I eventually settled for a refund in the form of goods to the same value. A reult of sorts. I shall never use DSG again.
- tonycollings369@btinternet.com replies to Michael(stroke/aphasia) six months in £6.99 £2.00 o- OG!" BO!
- KnowlesIts "The Tech Guys". I pay £7.99 a month for this, they should only be taking money out of your account if you signed up to it like I had. (Sneaky sales people they are they might have got you to sign up without actually realising). For me, its come in handy, spilt coffee on my laptop, keyboard and touchpad stopped working, rang up, sent it off and got it back fixed. Basically covers any accidental damage. If they can't fix it it'll get replaced.
- Ron WaltonWill you stop taking £6 99 from my credit card Account
- S IslamI took a PC from Currys they gone charge extra £7.99 for product support AG. it is cheat with me.......
- Layton replies to Melanie FosterYes - Had the same. It's a monthly insurance charge levied for possible breakdown or damage to equipment. Mine was for a TV purchased at Currys. They're the same company as Dixons now and they're all up to the same little game, so beware! I got through, and was firstly told they couldn't do refunds. However, I stood my ground and insisted that I never accept offers of insurance on purchases and that they must refund the payment. They immediately changed tack and agreed to send a notice of cancellation document with a refund payment direct to my credit card. To be on the safe side, I reported them to the disputes department with my credit card company. Suggest you do likewise. Good luck!
- CESAR FERNANDESTHAT IS FRAUD THESE PEOPLE CHARGE ME 2 YEARS EVERY MONTH 8.99, HOW CAN I GET REFUND

- jjudydor replies to JennyWell i am so glad i found this site, i have been at my wits end trying to find out who AG product support was. They have been taking money out of my current account for the last 3 months. Bank could not find out who it was, so thanks now i can pass this information on, and get this sorted, and yes this to me is fraud, how much money are they making without people knowing.

[***].... well its time to get my money back and boy will i do that if i have to stand out side carrickmines with a plackard.... watch this space..lol i cant get a answer from that phone number by the way - Mary replies to PhilPlease read this and get your money back. I've just stormed down to Currys where I'd purchased a fridge/freezer and cooker in December and had been charged over £35 over the last three months for the so called Product Support. It was not asked for, nor authorized for them to set up their direct debit into my account. Product Support is extended warrenty or insurence for goods bought at Currys, Dixons and PC World. Because you don't ask or agree to it you are unaware for some time what this item is on your credit card statement. The supervisor at Currys I spoke to, agreed with me that it shouldn't be happening, but was aware that customers were being charged for this 'service' when they hadn't asked for it, or were unaware they'd 'inherited' it.
I have received a full refund from the store and made sure they have taken off all my details from the Product Support system. Currys have to be aware that this type of 'trading' is definately NOT good for business. Good Luck - FOXWE SHOULD LET EVERYBODY KNOW THIS IN ANY POSSIBLE WAYS.
- Cecil ThangarajahI keep getting this charge from 0844 800 6080 consequent to buying a computer from PC World. The salesperson said that the first month is free. I have been trying to cancell it. PC World says contact card company who say go to bank who say goto the retailer who sold it. I am at a loss while the money keeps going out of my account. What should one do? Trading standards and Consumer Agency are incapable of stopping such fraudulent business practices. Very frustrating!
- David G BlacknellReceived barely distinguishable phone call some time ago about "a contribution". Made a note to check my credit card statement, which arrived today. Sure enough, there was an entry from Product Support AG, which I didn't recognise. Logged on to the name and found this entry.

- Uncle BernieMates just put the matter in the small claims court.
It will cost you nothing.
apart from a small fee which will be refunded. - super sleuthJust noticed £10.99 had been taken out of my account for last two months. Rang the number 08448006080 as it appeared on my statement.. product support AG. Was told that it was for extended warranty for a lap top... I had not agreed to that so it was cancelled immediately over the phone and the woman said I would be refunded. Very efficient but I wonder how many others are being duped in this way. Not good.
- BootsyI too had £20.34 taken for product support on a digital camera - an automatic renewal on a policy I took out over a year ago. I called the number (08448006080) and the staff were very understanding & cooperative in agreeing to refund the amount in full and closing the account at the same time.
