- AnyaBCurrys were still up to this mean little scam in 2017. I found an entry in my credit card bill under Product Support with a (wrong) number 0844 800 6080. The number to get this cancelled is: 0344 561 4000. I signed nothing to say I wanted insurance, they just charged it to my card without asking.
- Duncan replies to BrinIt's Mastercare, I bought equipment from Curry's and the payments are for extended cover and breakdown

- JayI noticed £8.50 coming out on my credit card statement from 'Product Support Ag with this phone number next to it and when I phoned the number a recorded message told me it had been changed to 03445614000. I phoned them up and they told me it was an extended warranty that I had signed up to when I purchased my computer from PC World over a year ago and that the money had been coming out of my account every month since then.
Because I had only been checking the larger amounts on my statement I had not noticed but sure enough the deductions had been happening for over a year. I have never agreed to buy this warranty from PC World and I was not aware that I had it. My message to you is be very careful what you agree to or are being signed up to when you buy anything from PC World. And check the small amounts on your bank statements too.
When I phoned the number they cancelled the policy straight away but said they could not reimburse me. At least I will have no more payments coming out. I don't think I will buy from PC World again.- Caller: 08448006080

- WendySimilar to you guys i found a £8.99 charge on my CC statement - no idea at all what for. Goggled and came across this site, first called Barclaycard and cancelled any future payments. Asked them how they could allow anything like this without seeing some form of approval/signature! they couldn't answer or want to take responsibility. Called up 'Product support AG', who were pleasant enough and confirmed my CC had been debited for the past 7 months for an item bought in PC World. They too confirmed to cancel any future payments and refund me. Suppose to receive the funds in the next 7 working days. Will repost with an update. And will not be buying anything from PCworld/Currys ever again.
- MarkI checked my statement today and found this charge. I checked my reciepts and found that I was charged automatically for a warrantee service plan when I bought a laptop. I remember saying I didnt want it and they cancelled the charge. Its on my reciept as a minus figure. They started charging for it two months after I bought the laptop. I called today and they cancelled the charge and are processing a refund. The guy was very good about it.
- DavidCurrys/PC World add this to all big purchases without telling the customer what it is. It's an insurance against damage or breakdown of the product purchased. People sometime unwittingly sign a direct debit or the store adds it to your credit card without your knowledge and a monthly sum is then deducted from your bank account
- C s bJust found this after a £4.99 charge appeared on my bank statement. Very sneaky.
