- I have just rang Currys ([***])SHORT AND SWEET, I HOPE IT HELPS!!
You need to email coverplan@dsgiplc.com to ask them to stop the Direct Debit.
You need to have your original receipt or copy of the original purchase and under the AG Product suport or just product support charge on your receipt there should be a refrence number starting with 0402, Quote that as your subject (coverplan-Refno.0402******) And send a copy of the email to your card company aswell so if they charge again your financial institute knows they have been asked to stop and would be classified under law as theft. [***] scam. the payments have now stoped. Have a spectacular day. Feel free to send thanks to mckayroofing@hotmail.com, all the rest of the posts are very helpful but don't give the correct information for international peoples.- Caller: Currys
- julie| 1 replystatement on husbands credit card showing payments from 2008.Sending letter to
credit card company today for full summary of payments taken.Don't know when this actually started and can't find any policy relating to payments.(sometimes taken 2 payments a month.)
Also sending letter to Coverplan Customer Services at PO Box 1686,Sheffield,S2 5YB to demand copy of policy agreement and copy of direct debit mandate as we have no record of what insurance is for or if its needed. If they cannot supply this documentation, I will expect a full refund or report them to the Financial Services Ombudsman.Having to take the long way round as policy is in husbands name and they won't deal direct with me but would suggest to anyone else in same situation to try this approach over the phone for a quicker response.Similar stories about policy admin (google) link to martin lewis & read letters in forums. This is bank direct debits @ 7.99 per month for mobile phone insurances and people are having results with refunds.Check your statements.I always thought direct debits were a safe way to pay! Some sneaky underhand dealings if companies can dip into your accounts without authorisation.Would like to hear postings if anyone has success. - BijoPC world Insurance

- nanaochaye replies to Annoyed & out of pocket| 1 replyI bought a laptop from PC World in January. My husband came with me. I was asked if I wanted support and firmly stated NO. When I came to pay for my laptop I realised that I use my credit card so rarely that I couldn't remember the PIN. My husband paid by his debit card for me instead. I discovered two payments of £7.99 had been taken from MY CREDIT CARD which I hadn't used to buy the laptop. I rang the 0844 number this morning. I was told that the payment WAS for my laptop. I made sure that the DD was cancelled immediately and told them I intended taking the matter up with trading standards as it was clearly fraudulent. The operator said to me, "Will you still do that if you are given a complete refund!" I have a £7.99 cheque in the post and have been advised to take my receipt to PC World in the morning for the refund of my second £7.99. They could not satisfactorily explain how the unauthorised DD had been attached to my credit card when it wasn't used for payment of the laptop. Will keep you posted of tomorrows events! I intend to take this all the way!
- nanaochaye replies to nanaochayehi again,
I didn't even have to break sweat to get my money back at PC World at Castle Meadow in Nottingham. They didn't even seem surprised. I felt sure that this was a common occurrence. The product support is now cancelled and I have had a full refund. - derekReceived my AMEX statement which contained an entry which read:
DSG Product Support AGR 08448006080 £8.49- Caller: DSG Product Support AGR
- JeremyI found I have been paying £8.99 for months- and know I should look at my credit card statements more carefully. I phoned the number and they said they are cancelling the payment immediately and sending a letter to confirm this. I advised them to Google the phone number so they can see what a problem they have with their public relations,
- rebecca-mayThis may help someone to remember... I got two charges from this number on my credit card bill and got really annoyed... read comments on this site and then I remembered - I took a support contract for my lap top from Curries. Funny way to put it on a credit card bill as a call to this number though...

Its not a scam, what you need to do is call 0844 561 4000 ignore all the voice messages, you will be put through to customer service, they will give you a policy no and connect your call to the relevant company- Caller: product support AG
- nanaochaye replies to colin tylerReply to Colin.
The problem is not with Product Support Agency, it is with the PC world and associated companies. I think it is a scam. These shops are clearly attaching unauthorised mandates to people's credit cards. I didn't even use mine for the transaction for goodness sake!!! Details must have been held from a transaction years ago and used willy nilly. We were specific in stressing that we did NOT want any product insurance, free or otherwise. We have tried to get an explanatiion from PC World but in vain. We are told by consumer help people that they are not duty bound to give us an explanation. I have my money refunded and a cancellation straight away, but I still think the consumer should be protected from this kind of abuse! - Phil| 1 replyWho is 0844 800 6080 and why has money been taken from my credit card?T8D3
- nanaochaye replies to PhilPhil,
The number is Product support Agency and they collect money for support of some item you have bought from PC World or associated companies eg. Currys, Dixons. Somehow these firms are sending your details to Product Support under the impression that you have agreed to pay a monthly amount for support of something like a laptop, printer or whatever. If you have not agreed for this type of insurance, (for that's what it is), ring the number and tell them you want it cancelling immediately and you want the return of the money they have taken. They will return only the latest payment. If you have bought an item from these shops or online, take your receipt back to them for the remainder of the monet taken explaining that you have not signed or agreed to this insurance and that they have placed an unauthorised mandate on your credit card. It's an absolute disgrace that they are operating this shoddy company practice. - KCI too have been caught out by PC World. On contacting their Customer service Team (and I use that term very losely!) found out that I was in fact "signed up" for two payments one running from 2006 and the other from 2008. PC World say that they do not have signed direct debit mandates showing that I have agreed to these payments being taken as they do not keep them for that long!! Two yeas and four years - I would have thought they were legally obliged to keep them for at least this amount of time. I am currently pursuing them and need to find out how long they are legally obliged to keep these documents for. I would advise anybody caught out by this scam to avoid the "customer service team" whose sole aim seems to be to "get rid of you as quickly as they can by any means possible" I have had more help from by local PC World in Telford, who have been keen to help as much as they can. If the customer service team think that they can get rid of me THEY ARE VERY WRONG.
