- lazy_dumbI suspect I am the worst offender on here..
I had the same three month deal as others, which I also refused, and yet it has taken me over 2 years to get around to cancelling the support. I work in IT, which makes it even worse.
I need to wait until the next billing period to see if they are telling the truth, but it does seem to have been a very simple process to cancel with just a single call. - JohnThis number appeared unexpectedly on my credit cad statement with the description "Recurrent transaction product support AG" after I had bought a computer from PC World. I had in fact taken out a 5year support agreement with the product and paid up front for it. Rang the number and nice lady apologised for the "duplication" and said the transaction will be cancelled and the money refunded to my credit card. I shall check next statement scrupulously to make sure it is!
- Rob replies to Melanie FosterYep - I've had the same, £7 a month.
I bought a new PC from PC World. They told me it "came with" insurance. When I told them I didn't want it they said I could have three months free. I was quite clear that I didn't want it and made sure they had not charged me for it when I paid for the computer by card in the store.
However, a month later and the £7 / month charge starts occurring.
I think it is a scam really so have reported it as a fraudulent transaction to my card company who have refunded it. - BrendaThis nr. belongs to a 'contract' we did NOT sign when we bought our laptops/PC's from Currys, London! I have the same problem and they charge me every month for 'product support'! I have a huge problem after SEVEN months to stop this debit order, which I did not sign! I live in South Africa and visited London - why do I need product support! This should be stopped immediately. I need someone to help!

- Kit| 1 replyI have been charged over £7 for several months. I have twice tried to cancel it with my credit card company and have now received a letter from the card company saying they cannot cancel as 'the agreement is between yourself and Product Support AG' I did not take out any insurance. Watch out for this scam
- ThinkAboutIt replies to KitI would refer your card company to this website so they can see how many others got scammed. Also, in a post on this page there is a link that you can click on if you were signed up in error, and they promise to refund you in full and stop the debits to your card.
- davesimbaIt's Dixons/Currys Masterplan. They're crafty. I've been paying over £10 a month for 3 months as cover for my old fridge. I would never have knowingly signed up for it. Keep alert. They didn't call me but have been charging my credit card (the one that I bought the fridge with years ago).
- Caller: Dixons/Currys.
- lesley replies to DaveDixons/Currys/PC World do this all the time. You really need to check your receipt. The direct debit is some how set up by your card when swiped at the till.
- lesley08448006080 is Matercare's phone number for those who want to know. I used it to check that my TV protection policy was activated OK after my direct debit did not appear on my online bank account.
