I had a call this morning from this number that held up my telephone for almost 3 minutes. During this time I could not make another call. Talk about telephone hostage!! We are also ex directory and have registered for TPS.
Interestingly, after reading the replies on here and doing a little sniffing around the net I found Marcus Lashley IT Director on twitter

They called my direct and private work number!!!  how the **** have they managed to get this number!!  Cheeky blighters.

Getting calls from this number every other day now, the ONLY way to break the call is to unplug your phone at the main phone line point to the house for aqbout 5-10 seconds. I too am TPS registered, but the calls keep comming. If every one makes complaints to offcom and the ICO directly something might get done, I know I'll be checking my bills for strange amounts just in case the length of these calls is some kind of scamming issue, its probably not but always worth checking.

I also received this call and pressed 9. This made no difference whatsoever, the questions kept coming even though I  put the phone down and tried everything to stop the call.
Extremely annoyed and certainly did not leave my name and address as requested. There was the promise of being entered into a free prize draw for £50 M&S vouchers. I dread to think how much more you may be harassed if you did leave details!

WTF are TPS doing for us with these type of calls?

Getting these calls now more often than I'm happy with.
Fed up with it.
We're on TPS also, but I see from comments they won't do anything.
I'm going to ring virgin to see if they can block the number as it's basically harassment.
Why TPS don't do anything I don't get - what's the point in them if you still get nuisance marketing calls?

Put phone down as soon as "market research" was mentioned. Fortunately, this ended the call. 1471 confirmed the caller was 0845 0304400. I'm TPS registered and a bit miffed at being a recipient of this call.

Had hundreds of calls from 0845 0304400 and as we are a business with only a few lines you can understand our frustration.  Pressing 9 to opt out has no impact whatsover and neither does actually completing the survey!!
After looking at preious threads, found that the company that the IT manager mentioned works for offers an opt out of surveys.  Whether this works or not is to be seen but the link is http://www.curvedairmarketingsolutions.co.uk/optout.php

Today received a call from 08450304400.

This is a pseudo survey company and I was unable to disconnect the call for a long period of time.  Many others seem to have this difficulty too.

Whilst unable to disconnect the call, I was unable to make a call to the emergency services, either fire, police or ambulance.

This must create a serious risk and the company should be blocked from making calls to all BT customers.

Please can you resolve this before I take the emergency services issue to the media.

CPR Global do not have a 0845/0870 number to call, they have a free 0800 number to call and register on. Their and Data Protection House's only objective is to stop these calls coming through to you and to help protect your personal details and privacy from any further breach.

TPS does not cover market research hence why people registered with TPS still receive unwanted marketing calls. CPR Global and DPH are working together with market research companies to stop them calling people who are registered with CPR Global.

The number +448450304400 called me and a quick search found this page. I've got a Glasgow number that's not registered anywhere and is VOIP, so not even a 'real' telephone. I never answer numbers I don't know as it is, but the fact that they have this number is strange and leads me to believe that it's some form of autodialer that's not going to pay attention to blocked numbers.

Just had a call from this rubbish number, did not press anything, just ended call and it worked!

It may be that pressing 9 locks you in or perhaps I was just lucky?

The reason TPS does not work with Stonebridge's calls is because it would clash with this DMA director's interests

Stonebridge's calls are not surveys or marketing, they are hard sales calls disguised as such in their intro.

This is called Sugging.

Will the DMA's TPS do anything? Nope! Bit like FIFA, corrupt!

Legislation needs to be passed to set up Ofcom with the powers of TPS and to run a no-calls register which includes, sales, surveys and marketing calls. The present system is a self-regulated sham and scam.
