i got an email from this same guy today about a boat i have up on gum tree wants all my bank details.. i thought it was sue so just played along for a bit to see how far he would go.. he said he has organised pick up and everything when he said he had no phone range cause he was working for the same company as u saying.. defiantly a scam...

Never supply direct email in your Gumtree add
Do not allow text messages and stipulate no text will be replied to
Make sure they supply a contact number

This guy gregjones101@gmail.com has contacted me regarding buying my bike via Gumtree. I was very suspicious of the language he used in his emails and decided to google his name. These people must think we were born yesterday!! He said he would send the money via Paypal and then have the bike picked up via courier. No doubt he would have claimed the money back before I could remove it and I'm sure he would have got to the Western Union part in due time. Of course he became very evasive when I asked him to let me have his full name and postal address for the registration document. The phrase Scum Of The Earth springs to mind.

I have the same person jasonmaxwell2010@gmail.com trying to buy my car and asked me to pay for his
transport company $1650 and the total car money and the transport money is with paypal waiting to go to me.
After calling paypal, i found out the paypal email is not legit, service@paypal.com and the logo and set up is
fully copied and a scam. They warned me that this has been going on for a while. This person being on the ship in the sea
has scammed $$$$$$$$ of dollars from a lot of people. watch out for him.

I've just tried selling a motorbike on Gumtree and I got this exact reply from someone calling himself Greg Jones...email gregjonesboy101@gmail.com
I thought it sounded dodgy too and asked him to verify himself!

I just received the exact same message while trying to sell on carsales. thought it was suss so I googled the address. whew!

Desmond is at it again.... This time it started with an iMessage on my phone (no phone number showing). Same story, working on oil rig, son top honours, present, blah, blah, blah send paypal. Freakin time wasters...

Just got message exactly same asking PayPal and address ,,

I gave him my PayPal , since there no money on my account , didn't have address becuase I operate at home ,,

I'm scared he might used my PayPal account to hack me ...

This guy gregjonesboy101@gmail.com has just tried to do exactly the same to my partner who is trying to sell his motorbike on gumtree. Claims he has sent the money for the bike + shipping, we asked for his name and address for the registration document he just ignored the question repeatedly so we googled his email address and we found this. Lucklily we had already decided we were going to tell him we were no longer selling the bike as he has been messing us around for a few days now. People like this need to be found out!

Hi also been targeted by gregjonesboy101@gmail.com, I don't have pay pal account :) was after my motorbike too.

They must think we were born yesterday and never goggle these people. Thank goodness we can warn each other

looks like he is targeting  lots of us bikers :(
