we stop people in the street to ask their opinion on something........we ask for the name address etc etc.......because the company (in this case ipsos mori) has a team of validaters whos job it is to check that WE(the interviwers have interviewed  the right sex/age/social class etc) the information is NEVER EVER EVER used for anything else...I CAN understand when people are busy/stressed/upset/tired/ignorant/drunk/high/OR JUST PLAIN STUPID......to take part in any research study......what i cant UNDERSTAND......why you would slate anyone who is willing to get off their [***] and work (as appose to taking the taxpayers money......we are all tax payers by the way!!!in a job that is highly stressful that requires a tough skin and involves trying to interact with [***] like yourselves..... we should be knighted......and if you want to know ANYTHING ABOUT IPSOS MORI look them up on google......if you can spare the time

why would you ring MORI every day at the same time for month....MORI would answer your call the 1st time you ring.... they wouldnt ignore all your calls ....they wouldnt hide behind the sofa when the (door knocks )phones rings they wouldnt keep telling you they are busy and could you ring back.....they are one if the biggests market research companies in the world they employ 1000s of people the have been in business many  many years .....AND.....they didnt get there on DANS opinion so the next time they ring you .....just answer the phone and tell them your opinion is not important /not valid/not intelligant/not worthy.....and i am sure they will be glad to strike off the list and move on to the next ,,,NICE.... person

i agree with you we are just doing a job which i love (most of the time) i work on face to face surveys and i have to say in 20 years i have only met about 3 people that reduced me to tears 2 of them left me unable to drive my car i was shaking so much..i was unable to clutch the car....but for each of them I HAVE MET HUNDREDS OF REALLY NICE PEOPLE because i am a nice person i have a husband and family and i am a normal person i can relate to people and i have made a lot of friends over the years and NO I DO NOT GO TO WORK TO GET ABUSED BY PEOPLE especially those that never had a job in their lives....who gives them the right to slate me when i am taxpayer and they are spongers who dont need to worry were their there next paycheck is coming from because they know it will be in post/postoffice/bank...where ever..only thing is their opinion is  still valid and i still have to interview them..........we should get paid more when we have to interview gobshites

WHY would they ring you  3 times a day... i cant understand it ...because if you answered the 1st time and done the survey...or answered the 1st time an declined to do the survey...THEY WOULD NOT BE CALLING BACK.........my guess is you are avoiding  their call and avoiding their calling ..and the person ringing is thinking if i can get this last person  i will  have filled my quoto and can  get home to my sick /wife /husband/dog/mother/mother in law /gym/spinning class/boyfriend/girlfriend.......whatever  .....just answer the phone and if you dont want to do it fine i work full time at this and i have said no to people because i was busy/tired/resting/stressed/pissed off/ whatever dont ignore them please

I HAVE WORKED AS AN INTERVIEWER FOR iPSOS MORI FOR 20 YEARS.I DONT DO TELEPHONE SURVEYS BUT FACE TO FACE SURVEYS.WE WORK UNDER THE RULES OF THE DATA PROTECTION ACT AND ALSO UNDER THE RULES OF THE MARKET RESEARCH SOCIETY.WE DO NOT SELL ON YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS.WE COLLECT THE PUBLIC OPINION ON A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS THE CLIENTS WE WORK FOR DO NOT GET ACCESS TO YOUR DETAILS.WE ASK FOR NAME ADDRESS TEL. NO.ETC AS A % OF OUR WORK IS BACKCHECKED BY A TEAM OF VALIDATERS TO ENSURE WE HAVE INTERVIEWED THE CORRECT CROSS SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY AND ALSO THAT WE CARRIED OUT THE SURVEY IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR BRIEF.WE ARE NOT SCAMMING PEOPLE WE ARE NOT OUT TO GET PEOPLE WE ARE DOING A JOB WHICH THE GOVERNMENT ANY MANY BUSINESSES BOTH LARGE AND SMALL MAKE DECISIONS ON.

WELL BLOODY SAID, I TOO WORK FOR MORI ON FACE TO FACE  AND THE AMOUNT OF CRAP ABOUT THEM ON THIS IS UNREAL.IF THEY HAD THE SENSE TO GOOGLE IPSOS MORI THEY WOULD REALIZE WHAT EXTREME OVER ACTIVE IMAGINATIONS THEY HAVE.

I have two children  but still have time to talk to people, what do you do after you have a child never talk to anyone again!   I always take part in market research and have on several occasions been given an incentive to do so!

I cannot believe the small mindedness of some people, Ipsos Mori is a genuine market research company and I have been interviewed several times by their employees (whom of all were exceptionally well mannered and lovely people).  I feel as a member of the public my opinion counts and I am interested in giving my opinion!!  It's like democracy if every thought like you and didn't vote (which is also giving an opinion) what state would the nation be in!!  Get over yourself!!  By the way if you don't want to give your opinion why did you bother writing your opinions on this website???

Hi Tony,  Ipsos mori would be only to glad to give you information about the company, they are a very open and transparent company and all information pertaining to them is on their website, along with some interesting facts about market research and the market research society!

I don't know why you are complaining about being called 5 times in the past week if you had simply answered the phone and told them that you are not interested they certainly wouldn't have rang you back, I know everyone's opinion is valid but you sound like you don't have any!  Oh sorry you do apparently they were ringing about to do a "stupid" survey!!!

quite clearly you are a moron because if we only talked to our peers we would not have the opinon of a cross section of the community,I would say if i was interviewing in your street on a matter of something local that could  have an effect on your lively hood or way of life you would be the 1st out to give me your opinion,If you only realized what giving your opinion means we carry out surveys?(i am an interviwer with ipsos mori 20yrs)on a wide spectrum of subjects and issues,We dont carry out a load of surveys and hope someday somebody might want to know the findings.....We are commissioned by clients who want to know what YOU think. It could be something like....# Which of these names do you think suits this new car.OR it could be something like... #Due to spending cuts do you think its acceptable to close the local cancer unit....and believe me decisions are made on the findings of surveys WHY WOULD A COMPANY PAY US TO GO OUT AND LOOK FOR PEOPLE OF CERTAIN AGES WORKING IN DIFFERENT KINDS OF PROFESSIONS if it wasnt important                                         #not real interview questions ,used as  an example

i am guessing you work in market research, so do i and  i am amazed with some of the posts on here if they spent the time to google ipsos mori or just market research they would know we dont have a hidden agenda

I think if I told you your opinion is worthless ,your views are stupid, your answers are unintelligent,you dont look smart enough to have anything of importance to say..........you might have a case...BUT asking you would YOU like to give your opinion .......is not a criminal offence that last time I looked...

why would they call you so many times maybe they think your opinion is very worthy and the answers you gave them made them look at the survey in a whole new light maybe your ideas are something they hadnt even thought about...maybe  because of you the whole thing is being restructured .......i guesss thats what it is.........NOT....because you didnt deem your opinion worthy enough....god help if a friend asks you what do you think of my new car...or do you like my dress......or god forbid does my bum look big in this........I hope they tell YOU to shove your opinion.............

Then tell them a good time to call back at. The call centre people are lovely at Mori and will happily schedule you in for another time. :)

I don't think you should be discussing that on here. I've been told that that survey is of a highly confidential nature and is only discussed between Mori and the respondent. The British CRB for one thing would not be happy if they knew that members of the public were discussing such things!
