This is very simular to the telephone call I had this afternoon.
Whoever had previoulsy been allocated my landline no. are always being asked for my cold callers. I am fed up of saying they no longer have this no. we are different people who now own this landline and the no. And like you, when I explained that I wasnt who they wanted, they then hung up. Charming!

just recieved a very similar call, from asian man, VERY pushy and rude, saying it was a courtesy call, not a cold call, re PPI I could be entitled to money back. I tried to ask him where he got my number from, had to repeat question several times, just got the reply of a 'data base' explained we are on TPS and ex directory and requested him to remove our number - however he would not listen carried on with his 'speel' i ended up having to shout over him. will be doing as mentioned in previous comments.

Idiots keep calling me and saying i have an insurance claim, and then when i say i have not had any accidents they hang up.

Usual ppi nonsense. Ask them to remove your details from their database and don't call again.
