We received a call @ 20.25 hrs Thursday 05/08/10 from 07024122123 claiming to be Virgin Media Tech Dept. They are Telepests, do not give them the time of day. They are rude and ask you questions about your broadband and try to scare you into giving them details so they can access your pc.

A West Indian sounding lady called me from this number at 9.25pm today saying she was from the 'Ministry of Justice' and telling me about some regulation about loans taken out before 2007 being illegal and we should be able to get compensation.  She then mentioned credit cards as well and asked if I was using one at the moment.  I asked her why she was calling me at this late hour, she made up the excuse of people working during the day etc.

I told her to send me the paperwork if she wanted to and I would deal with it then.  I then hung up.

Got a phone call from this number today (07024122123) they claimed to be Broadband technical support so i played a long for a bit they was telling me all about a virus and that they can sort it all out for me else my computer would not work any more... lol so then he said it will also help speed up the computer etc he told me to go onto google search so i did, then he told me to type in some thing like rmviewer (or something viewer) which was a remote assistance software so then if i had downloaded that they would have been able to have control of my computer i would suspect the software its self if perhaps a virus any way. i would not take any notice of this call. i phoned up virgin as one time i asked them so you are with my broadband provider and he replied yes i am with there boradband technical support. when i got through to virgins boradband techincal support they told me i have had no calls from them and that i should not do anything they say but if they do call again i should take down there name and there ID.

At 12;23hrs today I took a call (after stating my number and waiting through a suspicious pause), from a woman telling me the same story as I had from Indian accented males a couple of months ago - claims that they were ISP and Broadband support. I immediately responded that I had just read items in the press and in Which? magazine and suspected that this was a scam. She then shrieked down the phone "Shut up, Just shut up!" at which point I put the 'phone down. In the next few minutes five further silent calls were made to my 'phone. I twice dialled 1471 which advised that the calling number was 0702 4122123.
I've had computers for around 20 years and my partner was a Computer Technician. I also have excellent anti-virus software.which is doing its daily scan as I type. I have never fallen victim to a scam.
The scum who actually take employment with these fraudsters must know that what they are doing is fraudulent. They too deserve to be behind bars.

    Hi Chris,

I work for a telecommunications company and have found that when some numbers go down, on occasion if you were to call this number it goes through to an automated message which says that you are a communications company and the number is out of service. It gives options to go through to different people but none of them work. It gives the danmere st website which does not give any information and the one link (the login button) takes you too 404 not found.
A little more information on this would be greatly appreciated and you should be doing something to resolve this issue as it is your company which is taking all the stick for this and surely you would want to do something to resolve this.

Got a call from Claim redress saying they can claim credit card charges back!!they are part of the Ministry of justice!!  I stupidly gave them my credit card number and security number on the back as they said they needed it to process my claim, and they would send me paperwork to complete.

Have gone to my daughters who said she didn't like the sound of it andto  cancel my C/C, have just phoned c/c company and my account has instantly been debited by them for £1200!!!!!, needless to say i'm mortified and have contacted the fraud department of my c/c company, who do not work weekends!!!!!!

Got a call from Redress claims this evening. Indian lady started to tell me about claiming credit card charges i could not really understand her. She passed me to a Indian sounding male who told me his name was Antony Hawkins. He told me i could claim charges on cards issued before 2007. He went on to give me hiscompany ID number and told me the address of the company in Bradford. He gave me his number and said it was his personal number and i could call any time if have a problem with the form. I went on to give my card number and when he asked for the security number and start and end date of the card i told him i didn't have the card with me just my paper work. He said he would call me again on friday to get it. I immediately called my credit card company and had the card cancelled.  If they call i will let them know in no uncertain terms that we are on to them. Thank God i did'nt give the rest of my details. Liz  I feel for you.

Had a call from these people again today (it's been a while since I asked them to remove my number from their database - perhaps they thought I'd forgotten...?) while I was cooking dinner.  When I told him it wasn't convenient, he asked "Where's your missus, Mark?".  I told him that I was gay and I didn't appreciate him being overfamiliar.  He said "If you had a missus to cook your dinner you wouldn't be gay" and rang off!  I rang back to ask for my number to be removed but only got a recorded message saying I could press "1" to leave the number to be removed, but that just took me back to the start of the recorded message...

Hi I work for this company its based in bradford yes. Been working there almost a month they are a reputable company just some of the people who work there have no manners when speaking to anyone. I believe they are not fradulent. they are having teething problems with their dialler system as I phoned people and they have been called several times i do list it as do not call but it keeps comng up on the system I do feel sorry for these people as I wouldnt like that myself. I do want to point out tps only blocks 95% of nsolicited calls so u will always get the odd sales call.   I hate the fact we call alot of old people its not right and i always try and be as quick as possible with them. However they do get get peoples compensation on the cards as I have spoke to quite a few customers. I hope this helps anyone.
